A cybersecurity system provides the ability to detect security risks in a cross-platform cloud solution. A unified data schema is used to abstract resources, principals and others across multiple platforms. A security graph is generated to present a unified view of cloud environments, which are then easily queried using the structure of the data schema. The solution allows a compact representation of cloud environments, which is scalable and multi-layered. Various enrichments may be added to the security graph, which are generated for example based on policies, and inspection of workloads in the cloud environment. The security graph allows for representation of production environments, staging environments, as well as code for deploying workloads in the cloud environment. Thus the solution is also able to present a complete picture of a user's entire cloud environment.

System and method for generating a security graph in a cloud computing environment

A system and method for generating a contextual cloud risk assessment of a cloud computing environment. The method includes accessing a plurality of cloud assessment policies, wherein a policy including a query executable on a security graph; applying the plurality of cloud assessment policies to the representation of the first cloud computing environment; generating a risk assessment report based on an output generated by applying a policy of the plurality of cloud assessment polices; and initiating a mitigation action based on a cybersecurity risk from the risk assessment report.

System and method for risk monitoring of cloud based computing environments

A system and method for performing active inspection of a computing environment utilizes optical character recognition. The method includes: receiving at least one network path to access a first resource, where the first resource is a cloud object deployed in the cloud computing environment, potentially accessible from a network which is external to the cloud computing environment; and generating a first instruction to access the first resource based on a plurality of reachability parameters designated in the at least one network path; causing execution of the generated first instruction to access the first resource; receiving a graphical output, the graphical output generated in response to execution of the generated first instruction; performing optical character recognition on the graphical output to generate a textual output; detecting in the textual output a predetermined data indicator; and initiating a second active inspection in response to detecting the data indicator in the textual output.

Techniques for active inspection of cloud computing applications utilizing optical character recognition

A method and system for providing textual insights on objects deployed in a cloud environment are provided. The method includes collecting object data on objects deployed in the cloud environment, wherein objects are deployed and operable at different layers of the cloud environment; identifying objects deployed in the cloud environment; constructing a visual representation of the cloud environment, including the identified objects and their relationships; and generating textual insights on the identified objects and their relationships using natural language processing.

A system and method for detecting effective permissions of a principal in a cloud computing environment, includes detecting a group of principal nodes, each principal node representing a principal in a cloud computing environment, in a security graph, the security graph storing therein a representation of the cloud computing environment; selecting a first principal node from the group of principal nodes; determining a permission between the first principal node and a resource node, wherein the resource node represents a resource deployed in the cloud computing environment; and associating the group of principal nodes with the determined permission.

Cybersecurity threat detection utilizing unified identity mapping and permission detection

A system and method for generating a security graph utilizing a unified model based on multiple cloud environments are provided. The method includes receiving data from a first cloud environment pertaining to: resources, principals, and permissions; generating for each resource a corresponding resource node in the security graph, the corresponding resource node including an identifier of the resource, wherein the resource is a cloud entity deployed in the first cloud environment; generating for each principal a corresponding principal node in the security graph, the corresponding principal node including an identifier of the principal, wherein the principal is a cloud entity in the first cloud environment that generates an operation request in the first cloud environment; and generating a connection between at least a principal node and at least a resource node in the security graph, in response to detecting a permission indicating that a principal can access a resource.

Efficient representation of multiple cloud computing environments through unified identity mapping

A system and method for detecting a permission escalation event in a computing environment is disclosed. The method includes: generating a cloned disk based on an original disk of a resource deployed in a computing environment; detecting an identifier of a first principal on the cloned disk; detecting a second principal in the computing environment, the first principal authorized to assume the first principal; storing a representation of the computing environment in a security database, including: a first principal node representing the first principal, and a second principal node representing the second principal, further associated with a permission; querying the representation to determine a permission of the first principal; determining that the second principal includes a permission which the first principal does not include based on a result of querying the representation; and generating a permission escalation event.

Techniques for cybersecurity identity risk detection utilizing disk cloning and unified identity mapping

A system and method for providing third party compliance to computing environments without providing access thereto. The method includes: generating a representation of the computing environment, the computing environment including a plurality of identities; generating a software inventory of the computing environment utilizing a cybersecurity inspection technique; determining compliance of the computing environment based on the representation and the software inventory; and providing the determined compliance to a third party, wherein the third party is not associated with the plurality of identities.

System and method for providing third party compliance to computer and software environments

A method for scalable vulnerability detection is provided. The method includes selecting at least a workload of a plurality of workloads deployed in a first cloud environment for inspection, wherein the workload includes a first volume; generating in a remote cluster an inspection node, the inspection node including at least a first disk, wherein the remote cluster provisions inspection nodes in response to demand for inspection nodes; generating a persistent volume (PV) on which the at least a first disk is mounted, wherein the at least a first disk is generated from a snapshot of the first volume; and generating a persistent volume claim (PVC) of the PV for an inspector workload, wherein the inspector workload is configured to inspect the PV for an object, and wherein inspector workloads are provisioned in response to demand for inspector workloads.
