User physical interaction characteristics information or the way a user physically interacts with a device is analyzed to aid in authenticating a user of a device. User physical interaction characteristics information such as swipe speed, finger area, finger conductivity, finger angle, device angle, movement patterns, acceleration, etc., provide signatures that are distinctive for particular individuals and possibly unique if measured to a sufficiently high level of precision. In some examples, a device measures finger positions, finger pad sizes, moisture level, acceleration, displacement, and changes in finger pad size for a particular user and compares the measurements to physical interaction characteristics measured during subsequent usage of the device to verify that a user is an authorized user.

Authentication using physical interaction characteristics

Protective gear such as a helmet includes multiple layers including an outer ball bearing layer and/or one or more energy and impact transformer layers. The ball bearing layer exposes multiple ball bearings on the outer surface of the protective gear to deflect and diminish shear forces and other rotational forces imparted onto the outer surface. In many examples, the ball bearings on the outer surface prevent the transfer of shear and rotational forces from the surface of a helmet onto a skull. The energy and impact transformer layers may also include various structures and materials used to dissipate mechanical energy applied to an outer layer or outer shell layer.

Shear reduction mechanism

Described herein are techniques and mechanisms for eye tracking based defocusing. According to various embodiments, video content may be transmitted from a server for presentation at a remote computing device in communication with the server via a network. Eye tracking information identified via an optical sensor at the client machine may be received from the remote computing device. The eye tracking information may describe a state of one or both eyes of an individual located proximate to the remote computing device. A first portion of the video content on which the eyes are more focused relative to a second portion of the video content may be identified. The video content may be updated based on the received eye tracking information. The second portion of the video content may be defocused relative to the first portion of the video content in the updated video content.
