A motor vehicle luggage compartment having a luggage rack element mounted to a bottom portion of the trunk lid. A storage module or piece of luggage is removably mounted to the luggage rack element and the storage module can be immobilized within the luggage rack element. The storage module is slid into and out of the luggage rack when the trunk lid is open but immobilized when the trunk lid is closed.

The invention relates to an air and oil suspension device notably for motor vehicles adapted to act both as a shock absorber and as a pneumatic spring. It comprises means for compensating the expansion of the fluids contained therein in case of temperature increment. In a cylinder divided into two chambers one containing a gas and the other a hydraulic fluid is slidably mounted another hollow cylinder closed at both ends and containing essentially a hydraulic fluid and a reduced volume of gas under pressure. This second cylinder has an integral external piston-forming flange provided with opposite non-return valves permitting the passage in either direction of the hydraulic fluid which is thus caused to undergo a substantial loss of pressure, and at least one opening through the wall of said second cylinder under said flange so that the pressures can balance each other on either side of the wall of said second cylinder.

Oil and air suspension devices

The invention relates to a hydropneumatic suspension device, comprising in the conventional manner a cylinder filled with a liquid in which a piston provided with spring-loaded valve is slidably mounted. This device comprises compensating apparatus for compensating the expansion of the liquid and gaseous media acting as a pneumatic spring, the compensating apparatus comprises an auxiliary space containing a gaseous fluid under pressure and a movable wall responsive on one side to the gas pressure and on the other hand to the pressure of the liquid contained in the device and also of the liquid contained in the device and also of the liquid filling the hollow rod of this device.
