A control configuration for a motor vehicle includes an engine control and a transmission control which are connected to one another through a communication channel. A transmission is shifted by using electrohydraulic pressure control valves for actuating friction elements in the transmission. The transmission control is mounted at a transmission housing. Solenoids of the electrohydraulic pressure control valves are integrated into the transmission control. Sensor signals which are to be evaluated by the transmission control are transmitted by sensors to the transmission control wirelessly.

Automatic transmission control for a motor vehicle

A control system includes a casing being partially filled with oil and in which an electrical, mechanical and/or hydraulic control device is disposed. An electronic control system is functionally associated with the control device. In order to keep electrical lines from the electronic control system to the control device as short as possible, the electronic control system is located inside the casing and is partially surrounded by oil. A printed circuit board and components of the electronic control system are sealed with a protective layer.

In a transmission control for a motor vehicle, the load acting on the motor vehicle, the engine rpm and the engine torque are taken into consideration when determining a point for shifting gears. A circuit determines if the engine torque lies above a first threshold value characterizing a traction operation of a motor vehicle, as a first condition; if an amount of acceleration lies below a second threshold value characterizing unaccelerated drive, as a second condition; and if the engine torque lies above a torque characterizing a movement resistance on a level surface plus a third threshold value, as a third condition. A signal is generated when the first, second and third conditions have been met for displacing the point for shifting gears in a direction of increased output rpm.

Transmission control for a motor vehicle with adaptation of shift points

A motor vehicle drive has an engine and an automatic transmission. A control for the motor vehicle drive includes an engine control for controlling a variable influencing torque of the engine and a transmission control for controlling shifting events of the transmission and for transmitting an intervention signal initiating a shifting event to the engine control. The transmission control includes a first device for ascertaining a current transmission input torque, a memory for storing torque values being maximally allowable during a shifting event, as a function of engine rpm and shifting type, a second device for comparing the current transmission input torque with the maximum allowable torque value at any given time and ascertaining a proportion by which the engine torque is to be varied during the shifting event, and a pulse former circuit for converting the proportion into a pulse modulated signal to be transmitted to the engine control as a control signal for controlling a variation in the engine torque during the shifting event.
