A sampling module is for mounting in a pipeline with a multiphase flow meter and for receiving multiphase fluid from the pipeline. The sampling module includes: a separation chamber for receiving and separating a sample volume of fluid from the multiphase fluid, the separation chamber having a vertical extent when in use; a lower valve for opening and closing a lower fluid path between a lower end of the separation chamber and the pipeline; an upper valve for opening and closing an upper fluid path between an upper end of the separation chamber and the pipeline; a lower sensor for measuring fluid properties of the fluid in a lower part of the separation chamber; and an upper sensor for measuring fluid properties of the fluid in an upper part of the separation chamber.

Sampling module for multiphase flow meter

Apparatus for monitoring the quality of gas in a process stream at a subsea location comprises: a container for permanent installation at the location; one or more devices for analysing gas quality, said devices being located in the container; and means for supplying a sample of gas from the process stream to the said one or more devices; wherein the pressure within the container is maintained at or near to atmospheric pressure. The invention also extends to a method of monitoring the quality of gas in a process stream at a subsea location.

Subsea gas quality analysis

The invention relates to a method for automatically monitoring the liquid content in a gas, and in particular the gas leaving a scrubber and entering a compressor. In the method, a sample of fluid is taken from the outlet of the compressor, its temperature and pressure are automatically varied, and the pressure and temperature at which condensation forms is automatically detected. The pressure and temperature thus detected can be used to determine the liquid content in the gas. In a variant method, the temperature and pressure of the sample are automatically varied, and the rate of liquid condensation is measured to determine the liquid content. The invention also extends to a device for cooling a gas so that the liquid content of the gas can be determined, including a cooled housing with a cavity therein, and means for measuring the temperature and pressure within the cavity.

Dew point and carry-over monitoring

Reducing the diameter of a well bore has many advantages. To achieve this a subsurface well bore is provided comprising one or more expandable sleeve components, preferably expandable liners, each expandable sleeve component being fully overlapped by one or more non expandable sleeve component, preferably conventional liners, such that the interior of the well bore is cased entirely by non expandable sleeve components. In addition the through holes for downhole lines can be provided within the well head rather than the tubing hanger. As the tubing hanger does not need to provide space for through holes and associated mounting couplings, its diameter can be reduced, thus reducing the internal diameter of the well bore by several inches.
