A system described herein may provide a technique for the automated detection of a particular type of lighting fixture, where a given type may refer to a particular make and/or model of the lighting fixture, bulb quantity, bulb technology, power output rating, etc. The detection may be based on measured dimming curves of the lighting fixture, which may indicate actual power consumption at varying brightness levels of the lighting fixture. One or more power consumption models may be selected, generated, and/or refined based on the measured dimming curves, and applied to other lighting fixtures sharing similar attributes and/or under similar conditions. Based on such models, a given lighting fixture may be able to automatically detect anomalous behavior (e.g., excessive power consumption or less power consumption compared to expected power consumption) and automatically take remedial actions.

Systems and methods for dynamic control and monitoring of heterogeneous smart lighting systems

Photosynthetically active photon flux density (PPFD) provided to plants from a grow light may be calculated based on light-canopy distance measurements, intensity measurements around the plants, and a known shape or distribution of light at the measured distance from the grow light. A controller and a method of controlling one or more grow lights can employ closed-loop techniques that repeatedly measure and adjust light until a desired PPFD is achieved and then maintained.

According to one aspect, a control circuit for a tubular light emitting diode (TLED) lamp may include an input detection circuit that detects, from an input signal, a type of control desired based on a characteristic of the input signal and generate an output signal, a digital control circuit that controls operation according to a digital lighting protocol, and an analog control circuit that controls operation according to a voltage associated with the input signal. The digital control circuit may be enabled or disabled based on the output signal. The analog control circuit may be enabled or disabled based on the output signal.

A system and method for providing high power factor wired lamp control that include receiving a lighting control input though a switch that is associated with at least one of: an operation and a function of at least one lamp. The system and method also include determining if an environment of the at least one lamp includes a connection between a neutral wire and the switch. The system and method additionally include communicating at least one electronic data command associated with the lighting control input to the at least one lamp through an AC power cycle. The system and method further include controlling the at least one lamp to operate based on the lighting control input based on the receipt of the at least one electronic data command communicated through the AC power cycle.

A buck-boost converter may include a first switch, an inductor, a first diode, a second switch, a second diode, and a capacitor. A cathode end of the first diode may be coupled to a first end of the inductor and a second end of the first switch. An anode end of the second diode may be coupled to a second end of the inductor and a first end of the second switch. A second end of the capacitor may be coupled to a second end of the second switch and an anode end of the first diode. A first end of the capacitor may be coupled to a cathode end of the second diode.

The system and method also include processing a digital data packet that includes at least one electronic data command associated with the lighting control input. The system and method additionally include implementing at least one powerline interruption associated with an AC power cycle to communicate the digital data packet to the at least one lamp. The system and method further include controlling the at least one lamp to operate based on the lighting control input based on the receipt of the digital data packet communicated through the AC power cycle.
