A light-emitting device includes a substrate and a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed above the substrate. In the plurality of light-emitting elements, a first light-emitting element and a second light-emitting element different in a rate of decrease in light output along with a temperature increase are included. The plurality of light-emitting elements include: a first serial element group including some light-emitting elements connected in series among the plurality of light-emitting elements; and a second serial element group connected in parallel with the first serial element group and including some light-emitting elements connected in series among the plurality of light-emitting elements. A ratio between a total number of first light-emitting elements and a total number of second light-emitting elements is different between the first serial element group and the second serial element group.

The dam member is formed in such a way that one end of the dam member which faces the sealing member and is closer to the light-emitting element than the opposite end of the dam member is in contact with the ceramic substrate while the opposite end is out of contact with the ceramic substrate.

A light-emitting module includes a substrate, and elongated light-emitting units arranged in rows on the substrate. Each light-emitting unit includes an element array of light-emitting elements arranged on the substrate and a sealing member sealing the element array. The sealing member contains a wavelength converting material. When the light-emitting units are viewed from a direction that is parallel to a surface on which the plurality of light-emitting units are arranged and coincides with a row direction being a direction along which the light-emitting units are arranged in rows, two of the light-emitting units are arranged such that portions of one of the two light-emitting units nearer to the center in the row direction are visible without being obstructed by the other light-emitting unit.

A lighting apparatus includes a substrate, a light-emitting element, and a sealing member. The light-emitting element emits light in a first wavelength range. The sealing member contains a material that converts the light in the first wavelength range to light in a second wavelength range different from the first wavelength range. The sealing member has a curved convex contour in at least one cross section that passes through the center of the light-emitting element and is perpendicular to a principal surface of the substrate. A curved line indicating a change in output angle that occurs upon a change in observation angle is approximated by a quadratic or trigonometric function that passes through the origin.

The illumination device has a lighting apparatus that includes: a first light-emission part emitting light of a daylight color temperature; a second light-emission part emitting light of an incandescent lamp color temperature; and the optical member, which is disposed on an optical path of the light emitted from the light-emission parts. A correlated color temperature of the light emitted from the second light-emission part is set to 2238 K. Due to this, in a spectrum of the light emitted from the second light-emission part, a maximum intensity within a wavelength range from 400 nm to 500 nm is no greater than one-tenth of a maximum intensity within a wavelength range from 300 nm to 800 nm.

LED illumination device and LED light-emission module

A semiconductor light emitting apparatus includes a solid-state light emitting device and a wavelength converter that converts primary light emitted by the solid-state light emitting device into secondary light at a loner-wavelength. The wavelength converter is an inorganic compact that includes a transparent wavelength conversion layer containing phosphor having a garnet crystal structure. The phosphor contains a constituent element group composed of at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Y, La, Gd, Tb, and Lu. Part of the constituent element group is substituted by Ceand the amount of Ceis 1 atomic % less of the entire constituent element group. As a result, a high-power and highly reliable semiconductor light emitting apparatus suitable as a point light source is provided. In addition, such a semiconductor light emitting apparatus is manufactured through a simple application of traditionally used practical technicians.

Semiconductor light emitting apparatus and light source apparatus using the same

A light emitting device includes a plurality of LEDs that each emit light. A wavelength conversion member converts wavelengths of at least part of the light emitted from the LEDs to at least one other wavelength, and outputs light obtained by combining light having at least two wavelengths emitted from the wavelength conversion member. At least part of a light emitting surface of the wavelength conversion member has a surface state that differs from other parts of the light emitting surface.

Provided is a light-emitting device which can reduce grainy texture, suppress color unevenness and luminance unevenness. A light-emitting device according to the present invention includes: a board; a plurality of light-emitting parts each of which includes (i) a LED chip mounted on the board and (ii) a phosphor-containing resin including a light wavelength converter and covering the LED chip. Further, the light-emitting device includes a light-guiding member provided on the board, between the light-emitting parts which are adjacent to each other. Furthermore, the light-guiding member is formed to cover part of the phosphor-containing resin.
