An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car movable along the hoistway, and a power management and transfer system. The power management and transfer system includes an electrical power source, a hoistway contactor secured in the hoistway and operably connected to the electrical power source, and a car contactor disposed at the elevator car, such that when the car contactor is brought into operable contact with the hoistway contactor, electrical power is transferrable between the power source and the elevator car.

Electrical power transmission to elevator system cars

A door operation controller for an elevator includes at least one sensor arranged in a doorway at a landing for detecting moving direction and/or moving speed of a person or an object in or near the doorway during a time period from when the elevator door is opened until when the elevator door is closed at the landing. The controller is configured to control door operation in response to the detection of a person's or object's movement in or near the doorway at the landing.

A handrail friction checking device comprises a handrail gripper for gripping the handrail and movable together with the handrail, a spring with one end of the spring being fixed and the other end being connected to the handrail gripper so that the spring can apply a spring force which is opposed to the direction of handrail movement to the handrail gripper when the handrail gripper moves along with the handrail and a sensor which is disposed in a way that it is distanced from the handrail gripper and can be triggered by the handrail gripper when the handrail gripper moves along with the handrail.

Handrail friction checking device

A door switch inspection device for detecting an abnormal condition of a landing door switch used in an elevator is disclosed. Each of a plurality of landing door switches is disposed on a corresponding landing door at each landing floor for detecting an open/closed state of the landing door. The door switch inspection device includes a plurality of voltage detection units connected to the ground side of their respective landing door switches for detecting a voltage value of their respective landing door switches, and a switch contact monitoring unit for detecting an abnormal condition of a landing door switch, which is carried out by calculating a voltage difference between two adjacent floors and comparing the voltage difference with a threshold voltage.

Automatic door switch inspection

The remote inspection device for a passenger conveyor includes at least one camera mounted directly above the passenger conveyor for monitoring external conditions of the passenger conveyor, a remote controller for performing a remote visual inspection using the camera, a passenger conveyor controller for operating the passenger conveyor at a normal speed during a normal operation and for operating the passenger conveyor at a slower speed or bringing it to a complete stop during a remote visual inspection, and a sensor connected to the passenger conveyor controller and arranged in the vicinity of the entrance of the passenger conveyor for detecting the presence of a passenger approaching the entrance of the passenger conveyor.

Remote inspection of passenger conveyors

A monitoring system for a passenger conveyor is provided. The passenger conveyor includes a motor for driving the passenger conveyor and an inverter for supplying current to the motor. The monitoring system includes a current sensor for detecting the current supplied to the motor; a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the motor; a data collecting device for receiving detected data from the current sensor and the temperature sensor; and a controller connected to the data collecting device. The controller is configured to calculate an idle operation motor torque during an idle operation of the passenger conveyor based on current and temperature detected during the idle operation; and determine that a fault exists in the passenger conveyor when a difference between the idle operation motor torque and a reference motor torque exceeds a predetermined threshold.

Monitoring system for a passenger conveyor

To provide a double-deck elevator characterized by the fact that by increasing the story height adjustment range in the direction in which the two cars approach each other, it is possible to increase the degree of building design freedom. Two up/down cars (), () arranged in outer frame () are connected with each other by means of pantographic mechanisms () that can effect an expansion and contraction operation, and the two cars (), () are driven to move towards each other or away from each other by means of pantographic mechanisms (). The pantographic mechanisms () are arranged in the spaces between vertical beams () and the two cars (), () and each has a pivot point at the longitudinal central portion of vertical beams () extending vertically in outer frame (). Due to the pantographic mechanisms (), the story height adjustment range in the direction in which the two cars (), () approach each other is not restricted.

Double-deck elevator

An assembly () for controlling movement of an automatically moveable door panel () includes sensors () such as microswitches positioned on at least one of a door panel () or a door frame member (). The sensors provide an indication of different levels of relative movement between the door panel and the door frame member at an interface () between them. Such relative movement includes an increase in a gap between them that corresponds to a situation when an object is at the interface () and may be caught. The sensors () respectively provide an indication of when an object may become caught and when one has. Automated movement of a door is controlled responsive to an indication of the presence of an object in a location where the object may become caught during automatic movement of the door.

Door assembly including a sensor for controlling automated door movement

An assembly () for controlling movement of an automatically moveable door panel () includes a sensor () positioned on at least one of a door panel () or a door frame member (). The sensitive portion provides an indication of when an object is in contact with or in very close proximity to a sensitive portion. A sensitive portion is established over an area of the door or door frame member at which an object may become caught during automated door movement. A disclosed example includes using an electromechanical film as a sensor so that the sensitive portion is responsive to pressure applied by the object on the sensitive portion. Another disclosed example includes a field effect sensor that generates an electric field that is at least partially interrupted when an object contacts or comes in very close proximity to the sensitive portion. Automated movement of a door is controlled responsive to an indication of the presence of an object in a location where the object may become caught during automatic movement of the door.
