A rear plate is provided which encloses an axial end opening of a housing body. A lock pin is configured to travel forward and backward in a slide hole formed in a first vane of a vane member, and an annular lock-hole-forming part is press-fitted to a retaining hole in an inner end surface of the rear plate, forming a lock hole in the rear plate. A projection having a flat distal end surface is formed at one circumferential end side of an inner peripheral surface of the lock-hole-forming part. Recesses that are continuous with the inner peripheral surface of the lock hole are formed on corresponding sides of the projection in the circumferential direction of the lock hole. This allows smooth engagement of the locking pin in the lock hole, and permits smooth supply and drainage of hydraulic pressure to and from the lock hole.

Valve timing control device for internal combustion engine

In a valve timing control apparatus configured to enable rotary motion of a vane rotor relative to a sprocket in a phase-retard direction or in a phase-advance direction by controlling hydraulic-pressure supply-and-exhaust for each of phase-advance hydraulic chambers and hydraulic-pressure supply-and-exhaust for each of phase-retard hydraulic chambers, first and second lock pins are located in a large-diameter rotor portion rather than a small-diameter rotor portion. The rotary motion of the vane rotor relative to the sprocket from an intermediate lock position between a maximum phase-advance position and a maximum phase-retard position is restricted by engagement of the first lock pin with a first lock hole and by engagement of the second lock pin with a second lock hole. The vane rotor is held at the maximum phase-retard position by engagement of the first lock pin with the second lock hole.

Valve timing control apparatus of internal combustion engine

In a valve timing control apparatus employing two lock pins located in a vane rotor and two lock holes located in a sprocket so as to permit movement of the lock pins into and out of engagement with the respective holes, a guide mechanism is provided for guiding movement of the vane rotor relative to the sprocket toward a prescribed lock position. The guide mechanism includes a guide pin and a guide hole configured to permit movement of the guide pin into and out of engagement with the guide hole. Hydraulic pressure, used for retreating-movement of the lock pins out of engagement, is supplied through a first branch passage branching from an unlock passage configured to communicate with a pump discharge passage. Hydraulic pressure, used for retreating-movement of the guide pin out of engagement, is supplied through a second branch passage branching from the same unlock passage.

A variable valve actuating apparatus includes: a first rotary member which includes a rotor fixed to one of the inner cam shaft and the outer cam shaft, and a receiving chamber formed within the first rotary member, and which is arranged to be rotated in an advance angle direction or in a retard angle direction relative to the drive rotary member by a hydraulic pressure selectively supplied to or drained from the advance angle operation chamber and the retard angle operation chamber; and a second rotary member fixed to the other of the inner cam shaft and the outer cam shaft, rotatably received within the receiving chamber of the first rotary member, and arranged to be rotated relative to the first rotary member and the drive rotary member within a predetermined angle range.

Variable valve actuating apparatus for internal combustion engine

A variable valve actuating apparatus includes: a first lock recessed portion; a first lock member; a second lock recessed portion formed in the second rotary member's side; a second lock member; a first lock passage arranged to supply the hydraulic fluid, and thereby to move the first lock member out of the first lock recessed portion; and a second lock passage arranged to supply the hydraulic fluid, and thereby to move the second lock member out of the second lock recessed portion, at least a part of the first lock recessed portion and at least a part of the second lock recessed portion being disposed at a position to be projected in an axial direction when the first lock member and the second lock member are in the lock state.

Even if an internal combustion engine is stopped having a lock pin of a vane rotor kept disengaged from a lock recess, subsequent engine starting can instantly move the vane rotor to a desired angular position where the lock member an be engaged with the lock recess. The vane rotor has therein two passage control mechanisms each having a hydraulically actuated valve body. When the valve body is moved to a given position, retarding and advancing hydraulic holes become communicated to each other through an annular groove of the valve body. Due to this ON communication, retarding and advancing operation chambers become communicated, so that reciprocative swing movement of the vane rotor induced by an alternating torque produced at the starting of the engine is effectively made and thus the vane rotor can be quickly turned to the desired angular position for ease of engine starting.

Valve timing control device of internal combustion engine

In order to minimize a calculation load and surely obtain a maximum adhesion torque, estimated adhesion torques are always stored, an maximum value is obtained from the stored plural estimated adhesion torques immediately before slip/skid is detected when detecting the slip/skid, and the maximum value is set as a maximum adhesion torque. The maximum adhesion torque immediately before the slip/skid is detected is compared with a value of the estimated adhesion torque when the slip/skid is detected. When the calculated value exceeds a threshold value, it is determined as a condition where an adhesion coefficient drastically drops, and a suppression/return ratio of the torque is switched to a lower value than that under a condition where the adhesion coefficient does not drastically drop. The value of the torque at the time of suppression or return is set to a smaller value to surely suppress the slip/skid.

Control device for electric rolling stock

In a valve timing control apparatus configured to enable rotary motion of a vane rotor relative to a housing, a recessed-groove passage is formed in the inside end face of the housing. A circumferential length of the recessed-groove passage is dimensioned to be greater than a circumferential width of the associated vane. The recessed-groove passage permits fluid-communication between a phase-advance hydraulic chamber and a phase-retard hydraulic chamber by way of both circumferential ends of the recessed-groove passage at a maximum phase-retard position of the vane rotor relative to the housing. Even when an engine stall has occurred during a low-temperature engine operating condition with the vane rotor positioned nearer the maximum phase-retard position, the vane rotor can rapidly rotate to its lock position by a fluttering motion, caused by alternating torque and multiplied by fluid-communication between the phase-advance hydraulic chamber and the phase-retard hydraulic chamber through the recessed-groove passage.

In an intake valve timing control apparatus, a lock member is arranged to lock a vane rotor with respect to a housing when the vane rotor is in a most retarded position within which rotation of the vane rotor is restricted by a stopper mechanism. In an exhaust valve timing control apparatus, a lock member is arranged to lock a vane rotor with respect to a housing when the vane rotor is in a most advanced position within which rotation of the vane rotor is restricted by a stopper mechanism. The exhaust valve timing control apparatus further includes a biasing member arranged to bias the vane rotor with respect to the housing in a direction toward the most advanced position. In each valve timing control apparatus, a housing body of the housing and a vane rotor are formed by extruding an aluminum-based metal.

Valve timing control apparatus for internal combustion engine

In a valve timing control apparatus, phase-retard and phase-advance hydraulic chambers are defined among a plurality of shoes formed in a housing and a plurality of vanes formed integral with a rotor fixed to a camshaft. The rotor has a large-diameter portion formed between a first group of adjacent vanes and a small-diameter portion formed between a second group of adjacent vanes. The innermost end of a shoe of the shoes, opposed to the outer peripheral surface of the small-diameter portion, is configured to protrude radially inward rather than the innermost end of a shoe of the shoes, opposed to the outer peripheral surface of the large-diameter portion. A lock pin is located in the large-diameter portion of the rotor, whereas a lock hole, with which the lock pin slides into and out of engagement, is located in the inner face of a sprocket.

In a housing body of an engine valve timing control apparatus, a vane rotor includes a vane, wherein the vane and shoes of the housing body define advance and retard chambers. The housing body is formed with a pulley adapted to winding of a belt, and formed with first bolt holes extending axially through the housing body, and formed with a sealing recess at an open axial end. A plate is fixedly inserted in the sealing recess, and formed with second bolt holes facing the first bolt holes. An annular first sealing ring is arranged between an inside periphery of the sealing recess and an outside periphery of the plate. An annular second sealing ring is arranged between the plate and an axial end surface of one of the shoes, wherein the second sealing ring extends circumferentially around one of the second bolt holes.

An image signal input circuit includes an input terminal configured to receive an image signal, a clamp circuit configured to hold a sink chip voltage contained in the image signal to be a constant value, a level shift circuit that includes a first emitter follower having a first transistor and a first current source, and a second emitter follower having a second transistor and a second current source, a base of the second transistor being connected to an emitter of the first transistor, and that is configured to shift a level of the sink chip voltage which is held constant, and an electric current source configured to attract a base current of the first transistor.

Image signal input circuit

A valve timing control apparatus for an internal combustion engine, includes a housing body, a vane rotor, a first plate, and a second plate. The housing body is formed integrally with a shoe at an inside periphery of the housing body, wherein the shoe projects inwardly in a radial direction of the housing body, and wherein the housing body is formed with a sealing recess at an axial end of the housing body. The vane rotor is rotatably mounted in the housing body, wherein the vane rotor includes a vane, wherein the vane and the shoe define advance and retard chambers adapted to supply and drainage of fluid. The first plate is fixedly inserted in the sealing recess of the housing body, the first plate sealing the axial end of the housing body. The second plate seals another axial end of the housing body.
