A clamping apparatus is provided with: a metallic detector that is provided to a pivot shaft pivotally moving integrally with a clamp arm under the operation of a driving unit, in such a manner as to extend along the pivot shaft so as to be around the axis thereof; and one proximity sensor that is arranged so as to be opposed to the detector and that detects the magnetic loss of the detector. The detector is formed so that the area of a sensor opposing part opposed to a detection surface of the proximity sensor changes in association with the pivotal moving of the pivot shaft.

Clamping apparatus

An elongated attachment hole is formed on a housing containing a magnetic sensor, a thin plate-like hole cover is placed on the housing to cover the elongated attachment hole, a single attachment bolt is disposed in such a manner as to go through the hole cover and the elongated attachment hole, and the attachment bolt is screwed in a screw hole of a cylinder body, thereby fixation of the housing on the cylinder body and fixation of the hole cover on the housing are performed at the same time by using the single attachment bolt.

A piston position detecting device includes a position sensor, a fixing screw for attaching the position sensor to an outer periphery of the cylinder tube through the intermediary of a sensor attachment bracket, a nut plate into which the fixing screw is screwed, and a protecting cover covering the position sensor and the fixing screw, wherein the position sensor and the protecting cover are able to be concurrently mounted to the cylinder tube using the fixing screw through the intermediary of a sensor attachment bracket by forming the nut plate from a portion of the protecting cover, and in addition, when the position sensor is position-adjusted, the position sensor and the protecting cover are enabled to be displaced together.

Piston position detecting device of fluid pressure cylinder

A position-detecting sensor to which a mounting mechanism for a position-detecting sensor is applied is equipped with a holder capable of accommodating a sensor element in which a magnetic sensor or the like is disposed, and includes a flange on a lower end of the holder, which is inserted through a sensor mounting groove of a cylinder apparatus. The flange is formed in a plate shape, having a narrow portion and a widened portion that differ in width dimension. After insertion thereof through the sensor mounting groove such that side surfaces of the narrow portion are made parallel with the sensor mounting groove, the holder is turned, whereby the widened portion engages within and is retained respectively by a pair of recess portions in the sensor mounting groove.

Mounting mechanism for a position-detecting sensor

A position detecting mechanism for specifying the position of a movable body using magnetism includes a magnetic device mounted to the movable body and a magnetic sensor mounted to a housing. The magnetic device includes a pair of yokes made of a magnetic substance, a plurality of permanent magnets interposed between the yokes, and a holder for holding the magnets. The magnets are disposed in such a manner that the north and south magnetic poles are in contact with the yokes on both sides.

Actuator with position detecting mechanism

An annular magnet is formed by coupling a plurality of arc-shaped divided magnets with each other in an annular shape as well as such being magnetized with N and S magnetic poles on the end surfaces thereof in an axial direction, wherein the annular magnet is formed such that each of the divided magnets has joint portions at both ends thereof so that the divided magnets are joined to each other. Each of the joint portions also has a joint surface to overlap the joint portions of adjacent divided magnets in the axial direction. The joint surface is magnetized to a magnetic pole different from that of a joint surface to which such is joined, and the divided magnets are coupled with each other by the magnetic attraction force of different magnet poles.

Annular magnet

A position detecting switch fixture for cylinder, having a pair of clamping reinforced plates at both ends of a mounting band, and clamping/holding a position detecting switch between these plates by a clamping screw. A holder is installed between the pair of clamping reinforced plates to clamp the position detecting switch. The clamping screw has the following clamping positions: a first clamping position where, due to the clamping of the pair of clamping reinforced plates, the base ends of the clamping reinforced plates adjacent to a cylinder tube approach each other, whereby the mounting band is temporarily fixed to the cylinder tube but the switch is not fixed; a second clamping position where, due to subsequent clamping, the switch is fixed to the holder; and a third clamping position where, due to further clamping, clamping restriction sections provided in the holder abut against each other to restrict still further clamping.

Exemplary embodiments of the invention provide a sensor attachment mechanism capable of attaching a position detecting sensor having directivity in a proper direction to a fluid pressure cylinder having a rail extending along the length of a cylinder tube on the outer surface thereof. Embodiments include a position detecting sensor for sensing the operating position of a piston is attached with a sensor holder to a grooved rail extending along the length of a cylinder tube on the outer surface thereof. The position detecting sensor has directivity in magnetic detection. The sensor holder includes a base mounted on the rail and a sensor holding part extending from the base. The sensor holding part is close to or in contact with the surface of the cylinder tube outside rail walls. The sensor holding part has a holding guide for holding the position detecting sensor in a direction parallel to the axis line of the cylinder such that the directivity of the sensor in the magnetic detection is directed to substantially the center of the cylinder.
