Bandwidth extension apparatus for automatically adjusting the bandwidth of inputted signal and a method therefor

A voice band extender includes a component separator for receiving a band-limited speech signal over a telecommunications line to separate the speech signal into a noise-suppressed signal and an extracted-noise signal, a noise-suppressed signal component extender for adding a signal having its frequency band higher than that of the noise-suppressed signal to thereby produce an extended noise-suppressed signal, an extracted-noise signal component extender for producing an extended extracted-noise signal, a signal intensity adjuster for adjusting signal intensity of either or both of the extended noise-suppressed signal and the extended extracted-noise signal, and a synthesizer for combining the extended noise-suppressed signal and the extended extracted-noise signal obtained by the intensity adjustment. The respective frequency bands of the extracted-noise signal and the noise-suppressed signal are thus extended.

A band converted signal generator includes a low range characteristic application section () as a component emphasis means emphasizing only one or more specific frequency components selected from among frequency components of an input signal; and a low pass filter () as a component extraction means extracting a signal component of a desired frequency band from an output signal supplied from the low range characteristic application section (). Speech band extension device

A receiving device receives a transmission unit signal that is sent from a sending end and accommodates a result of dividing, the result of the dividing being obtained by quantizing a value based on relative differences between a plurality of sampling values having temporal prior-posterior relationship therebetween, and dividing data produced in a time series in accordance with a result of the quantizing, at the sending end. The receiving device includes a need-of-adjustment determining means which determines whether or not an amplitude adjustment needs to be made in accordance with a value of an amplitude of a signal waveform indicated by a decoding result of the produced data accommodated in the transmission unit signal; and an amplitude adjusting means which transparently passes the signal waveform when the need-of-adjustment determining means determines that the amplitude adjustment does not need to be made, and performs predetermined amplitude adjusting processing to pass the signal waveform when the need-of-adjustment determining means determines that the amplitude adjustment needs to be made.

Diving equipment easily operable by disabled persons, aged persons, etc. and wearable by oneself. The diving equipment such as buoyancy controlling device (BCD) has the function to hold a tank on the shoulder of a wearer and the function as a life jacket providing buoyancy to the wearer. In the diving equipment (BCD) of which the overall is formed in a vest-like shape, a tank holding part (), shoulder parts () positioned at the both shoulder portions of a diver, and the portion () positioned at the center of the thoracabdominal part of the diver are formed continuously to each other so as to constitute rigid structural members. Most or all operating portions () are installed at the portion () positioned at the center of the thoracoabdominal part of the diver.

It is possible to save storage resources. A loss compensation device for compensating a loss in periodical signals when the loss occurs in an arbitrary section of the periodical signals which are divided into predetermined sections and received in time series, includes: a periodical signal storage which stores one or more sections of newly received periodical signals for a predetermined period of time; a loss detector which detects a loss of each section of the periodical signals; and an element periodical signal generator which generates a plurality of element periodical signals for interpolation having different waveforms, in accordance with the periodical signals stored in the periodical signal storage, at time of detection of the loss if the loss is detected by the loss detector. The plurality of element periodical signals generated by the element periodical signal generator are synthesized, and a result of the synthesizing is arranged at the section where the loss in the periodical signals has occurred.

Loss compensation device, loss compensation method and loss compensation program

A receiving device exhibits a high communication quality even if having a small time complexity and a small space complexity. The receiving receives a transmission unit signal sent from a sending device via a predetermined transmission path and executes a reproduction output corresponding to an element periodic signal that is a decoding result of the plurality of encoded element periodic signals extracted from the transmission unit signal. The receiving device detects a predetermined interference event to interfere with using of the encoded element periodic signals packed in the transmission unit signal for the reproduction output and interpolates an alternative element periodic signal into a series of element periodic signals.

Circuitry and a method compensate the erasure of speech signal data or similar periodic signal data, by substitution using past periodic signal data input. After a predetermined number of latest periodic signal data have been saved, whether or not an erasure occurs is determined with every periodic signal data sequence, which is a unit of processing. When an erasure occurs, one of periodic signal data sequences saved, which lies in a determined segment to be used, is used to generate synthetic data for substitution. The position of the segment to be used is determined such that when the erasure continues over units of processing, the position sequentially varies gradually for each processing units.
