A frame structure for a motorcycle includes a main frame for supporting a front structure of the motorcycle, the main frame including a pair of main pipes extending rearward from a head pipe of the front structure; a pivot bracket including a metal plate, the pivot bracket connected to the main frame and including a rear cushion mounting portion and a swing arm mounting portion for swingably mounting a rear cushion and a swing arm. The main frame further includes: a pair of support pipes extending rearward from the head pipe for supporting the front structure; and a connecting portion jointly connected at a rear end of the pair of main pipes and the pair of support pipes for connecting to the pivot bracket. The rear cushion mounting portion is positioned forward of the connecting portion of the main frame when viewed from a side view of the motorcycle.

Frame structure for a motorcycle

A motorcycle is provided which can enhance a cooling effect of a radiator while suppressing traveling resistance generated by a front fender. In a motorcycle which includes a front fender which is arranged between the left and right fork assemblies which constitute a front fork, and covers the front wheel from above, radiators are provided as a pair of left and right radiators, respective inner edges of the left and right radiators and the front fender overlap with each other as viewed from a front side, and a pair of left and right openings which extends in a vertical direction is formed in a rear portion of the front fender.

Motorcycle

An inner cowl and a radiator upper cowl surround a radiator cover. An air guide is provided inside a radiator. A first air duct sends traveling air flow to the radiator while a second air duct, spaced laterally inwardly from the radiator, bypasses the radiator and sends cool traveling air flowing toward a driver's legs via a slit provided in a rear radiator cover.

Straddle type vehicle

A technique to adequately provide a sound pressure of a horn that is less affected by a flow of air. In a motorcycle including a front cover for laterally covering a horn, the front cover includes an outer cover and an inner cover located inwardly of the outer cover in a vehicle-width direction. The inner cover includes an air guide surface extending in a vehicle-longitudinal direction. The horn is placed at the rear of the air guide surface. The inner cover further includes a relief portion leaning outwardly in the vehicle-width direction to steer clear of a vehicle forward side of the horn. The inner cover includes a covering provided on a surface contiguous with the air guide surface to cover at least a part of the vehicle forward side of the horn. The covering has a mesh structure.

Saddle-ride type vehicle

A front cowl structure for a saddle riding type vehicle for preventing turbulence in a stream of air flowing over a front cowl surface. The front cowl structure includes a duct placed inside a front cowl with a duct opening that opens to the front of the vehicle. The front cowl has a cowl front surface opening at a leading end portion thereof for opening a cowl front surface. Headlights are disposed on both lateral sides of the cowl front surface opening with each having a lens surface. The lens surfaces form opening edge portions on both lateral sides of the cowl front surface opening. The lens surfaces are each inclined to a vehicle outer side and rearwardly from the opening edge portions. The duct opening and a cowl opening central portion of the cowl front surface opening are substantially aligned with each other in a vehicle longitudinal direction.

Front cowl structure for saddle riding type vehicle

A motorcycle is provided with a front fork cover which can suppress traveling resistance as much as possible while increasing a cooling effect of a radiator within a required range. A pair of radiators as viewed in a side view are arranged above a crankcase of an engine. A front fork is arranged over the radiators in the vertical direction as viewed in a side view. Upper surfaces of front fork covers arranged above lower ends of the radiators in the vertical direction extend toward the radiators, and lower surfaces of the front fork covers arranged below the lower ends of the radiators extend toward lateral sides of the crankcase extending to the outside more than the radiators.

A saddle-ride vehicle for reducing air resistance flowing toward the rear of the vehicle. A saddle-ride type vehicle includes a front cowl in a vehicle front part and a rear cowl provided in a vehicle rear part. The rear cowl is provided with a bulging part protruding to the left and right in a vehicle widthwise direction. In addition, the bulging part protrudes outward of the rear edges of the front cowl in the vehicle widthwise direction. Further, side surfaces of the bulging part are each formed in a curved shape which bulges toward an outside of the vehicle in a plan view of the vehicle. Furthermore, a peak part which is located at an outermost edge of the side surface in the vehicle widthwise direction is located at a position closer to the front of the vehicle within a length of the bulging part in a vehicle front-rear direction.

To restrain an increase in the numbers of components and process steps and achieve an easy mounting and dismounting of a pivot shaft. An arm supporting member includes a pair of left and right plate members, a middle cross pipe extending between the plate members and a center pivot plate mounted to the middle cross pipe. A pivot shaft is supported by the plate member and the center pivot plate, and a drive shaft is arranged between the plate member and the center pivot plate. The middle cross pipe is arranged above the pivot shaft on a front portion of a vehicle. The center pivot plate is provided with an upright wall as a receiving portion for aiding the positioning of the bearing member by receiving the bearing member, more specifically, the collar when assembling the swing arm to the center pivot plate and the plate member.

Swing arm supporting structure for motorcycles

To provide a cowl structure for a vehicle for improving the appearance of the vehicle without increasing the weight of the vehicle and also for enhancing the operational stability. In a cowl structure for a vehicle which includes a front cowl for covering a front portion of a vehicle body, a radiator is positioned in front of the cylinder heads of the engine. A radiator cover is provided for covering the radiator ranging from side surfaces to a lower end of the radiator. Bulging portions are provided for bulging from a front portion to a rear portion of the radiator cover and being formed in a direction to be rearwardly and upwardly oblique in a side view of the vehicle. The bulging portions are formed on a lower end portion of the radiator cover.

Cowl structure of vehicle

In a frame structure of a small vehicle, an abutting surface abutting against a first frame member is provided on a second frame member constituting a part of a vehicle frame together with the first frame member. The second frame member is welded to the first frame member by an outer periphery of the abutting surface. The two frame members constituting a part of the vehicle frame are also welded together by the outer periphery of the abutting surface formed on the second frame member so as to abut against the first frame member. This achieves a decrease in the size and weight of the second frame member while sufficiently ensuring joining strength thereof. An opening portion open to an abutting surface is provided in a second frame member to expose a part of a first frame member. The second frame member is welded to the first frame member by a periphery of the opening portion.
