A shutter for a camera capable of opening a shutter sector in a reduced period of time includes a shutter opening formed in a shutter plate, shutter sectors for opening and closing the shutter opening, a drive lever having a drive pin for operating the shutter sectors, and an actuator for driving the drive lever. The drive pin penetrates through-holes formed in the shutter sectors. The through-holes have a size sufficiently large so that the drive lever is driven by the actuator substantially in a no-load state immediately after starting to drive the drive lever so that the shutter sectors are not moved until the drive pin has achieved sufficient acceleration.

Shutter for camera

An active type range finder apparatus comprises a light projecting element having a base, a lead frame disposed on the base, at least one light emitting member disposed on the lead frame for emitting light to a subject, and at least one control terminal disposed on the base for controlling the light emitting member. A light receiving element is disposed at a base length from the light projecting element for receiving light reflected by the subject. The lead frame and the control terminal of the light projecting element have end portions arranged outside an extension region of the light emitting member in a direction of the base length. When the light emitting member is illuminated, scattered light is prevented from being projected within the extension region of the light emitting member in the direction of the base length, thereby preventing distance measurement errors.

Range finder apparatus

A data processing device for a camera wherein a parity bit is provided in data of an EEPROM, and when a parity error is caused by destruction of data or the like, data previously prepared in a ROM is employed, or when data before and after a specific abnormal data are normal, an interpolation calculation is performed by using these normal data. When data memorized in the EEPROM are destructed by an unexpected accident such as by static electricity, the data are prevented from using and picture taking can be continued without applying a serious influence on the picture-taking operation by performing an approximation calculation by using the other normal data memorized in the ROM.

An automatic focusing system for a camera comprises a motor rotatable in opposite directions, a drive member driven for rotation by the motor, a distance-setting member rotatable together with the drive member to place an objective lens in an initial position and movable to a predetermined forward position, and a holding mechanism for holding the distance-setting member in the predetermined forward position. The position of the drive member is identified at each monitoring point, and a position identification signal is generated. The sequence of movement of the distance-setting member is analyzed from a starting position to the predetermined forward position. The system further provides for preventing improper holding of the distance-setting member at its initial position.

A camera shutter of the type in which a shutter blade is initially displaced from an open position, in which a shutter opening is open, to a closed position, in which the shutter opening is closed, prior to the exposure-taking operation includes an actuating member displaceable in shutter-opening and shutter-closing directions to actuate the shutter blade in opening and closing directions. A drive motor effects displacement of the actuating member in the shutter-opening and shutter-closing directions, and a biasing spring biases the actuating member in the shutter-opening direction thereby preventing accidental closing of the shutter blade in the event impacts are applied to the camera. A detection switch detects when the shutter blade is in the open position, the switch being responsive to displacement of the actuating member in the shutter-opening direction to detect the open position of the shutter opening.

A camera system of the type having a lens shutter, a focal-plane shutter, an aperture defined by the lens shutter, and a camera lens, includes a selector circuit which sets an operation mode to either a lens shutter mode in which the lens shutter is operated as a programmed shutter or a focal-plane shutter mode in which the shutter speed is controlled by the focal-plane shutter and the aperture of the camera system is controlled by the lens shutter; a first driving system which controls the lens shutter; a second driving system which controls the time during which the focal-plane shutter is operated; a sequential control circuit which controls the timing of the first and second driving systems; a setting circuit which sets the focal length of the camera lens; an arithmetic circuit which produces an output signal in response to the brightness of the subject, the distance to the subject, the focal length of the lens and the sensitivity of the film; and a switching circuit which switches the operation mode to the focal-plane shutter mode irrespective of the setting of the selector circuit when the exposure value to be controlled exceeds the programmed exposure value of the lens shutter and for switching either the operation mode or the shutter speed in accordance with the set focal length to prevent photographic blurring during camera shake, in response to the output from the arithmetic circuit.

Camera system

A time recorder includes a clock circuit for producing a clock signal, a detector for detecting when a time card is loaded in the time recorder to produce a detection signal, and a correcting circuit for producing a correcting signal effective to correct time information. A printing wheel assembly is rotationally driven to print the time information which is displayed in a display device. A positioning mechanism receives the loaded time card and moves relative to the printing wheel assembly for positioning the loaded time card in a print position relative to the printing wheel assembly. A hammer is opposed to the loaded time card and actuated to act thereon against the printing wheel assembly to thereby print the time information. The display device, printing wheel assembly and positioning mechanism are driven in synchronization with one another to update and correct the displayed time information, the time information to be printed and the position of the time card in response to the clock and correcting signals. The hammer is actuated in response to the detection signal without relative interference with the drive of the printing wheel assembly and positioning mechanism.

A time recorder is normally powered by a main power source for supplying a commercial power and occasionally powered by a back-up power source during interruption of the commercial power supply. A clock means counts time to constantly produce a clock pulse, and a digital display constantly digitally indicates updated time data in response to the clock pulse. An analogue display is driven for analogically indicating time information and a recording mechanism is driven for recording time information on a recording medium. A driving device drives the analog display and recording mechanism in response to the clock pulse to update the time information indicated in the analog display and recorded by the recording mechanism. A detecting device is connected to the main power source for detecting the interruption of the commercial power supply. A controlling device responsive to the detection of the commercial power supply interruption inhibits the operation of the driving device during the commercial power supply interruption so that the driving device suspends the driving of the analog display and recording mechanism to thereby cause a delay of the time information from the updated time data, and operates after recovery of the commercial power supply for controlling the driving device to quickly drive the analog display and recording mechanism to correct for the delay to thereby update the time information.
