Friction member for frictional engagement device and method for producing the same

The present invention provides a wet friction member exhibiting excellent dynamic friction performance and a carbon fiber composite material for manufacturing the wet friction member. A carbon fiber composite materialof the present invention contains carbon fibersand a matrixjoining the carbon fiberswith each other, and the matrix has fine pores having diameters of 3.5 nm to 100 nm. Since the fine pores having diameters of a nanometer (nm) order is formed in the matrixof the carbon fiber composite material, the specific surface area of the carbon fiber composite materialis increased. As a result, a wet friction member made of the carbon fiber composite materialhas an improved dynamic friction performance.

When a CPU receives an input signal that selects an operation mode through an operation mode selecting screen, the CPU determines whether or not the selected operation mode coincides with an operation mode stored in individual operation mode histories of an main body NVM. If both the operation modes do not coincide with each other, the CPU starts counting of a midway consumption of a toner representing the consumption of the toner used thereafter. Further, the CPU determines whether or not the count of the midway consumption arrives at a specified value. Respective operation mode histories are stored in the main body NVM of an image forming device. The main body NVM stores an operation mode just before the turning-off of the power supply. When the power supply of the image forming device is turned on, a CPU discriminates whether a replacement unit having been attached is a genuine type or one other than the genuine type. When an operation mode just before the turning-off of the power supply differs from an operation mode corresponding to the replacement unit having been attached, such a fact is displayed on a UI device. When a user confirms the display on the UI device, the image forming device is controlled by the operation mode corresponding to the replacement unit.

A CPU selects an operation mode of an image forming apparatus by using a result of discriminating whether or not each of toner cartridges, whose information is stored in a main body NVM, is a genuine one. At that time, the CPU selects an operation mode of the image forming apparatus according to the combination of results of discriminating the toner cartridges (Y, M, C, K). For example, in a case where all the toner cartridges are genuine ones, the CPU selects an operation mode S that corresponds to the genuine one. Further, in a case where at least one of the toner cartridges is other than the genuine one, the CPU selects an operation mode N that differs from the operation mode corresponding to the genuine one.

Image forming apparatus that performs different control operation modes with exchange unit mounted therein

An image signal sent from an image sensor is input to the inverting terminal of a differential amplifier. An A/D converter converts an output of the differential amplifier to digital output data. A comparison circuit compares the digital output data with a reference value in a dummy bit period to produce a comparison result, for instance, a difference between the digital output data and the reference value. Based on the comparison result, a correction value setting circuit modifies a correction value so that a DC offset becomes closer to the reference value. For example, the correction value setting circuit adds the difference obtained by the comparison circuit to the correction value. A D/A converter converts the modified correction data to an analog voltage, which is input to the noninverting terminal of the differential amplifier.
