An object of the invention is to provide a solid polyaluminoxane composition suitably used as a cocatalyst and a catalyst carrier in combination with an olefin oligomerization or polymerization catalyst, without the use of solid inorganic carriers such as silica. The solid polyaluminoxane composition of the invention includes a polyalkylaluminoxane and a trialkylaluminum, and has a solubility in n-hexane at 25&#xb0; C. of less than 0.50 mol % as measured by a specific method (i), a solubility in toluene at 25&#xb0; C. of less than 1.0 mol % as measured by a specific method (ii), and a 13 mol % or more molar fraction of alkyl groups derived from the trialkylaluminum moieties relative to the total number of moles of alkyl groups derived from the polyalkylaluminoxane moieties and the alkyl groups derived from the trialkylaluminum moieties as measured with respect to tetrahydrofuran-dsoluble components by a specific method (iii).

The objectives of the present invention are to provide an olefin oligomerization catalyst that allows properties of particles of a polymer component by-produced in an &#x3b1;-olefin production process to be obtained in such a shape that does not negatively affect a separation process for the particles and to provide a method for producing an olefin oligomer performed in the presence of the olefin oligomerization catalyst. Catalyst for olefin multimerization and method for producing olefin multimer in presence of catalyst for olefin multimerization

The present invention provides a process for producing an &#x3b1;-olefin polymer comprising polymerizing or copolymerizing (a) Cor higher &#x3b1;-olefin(s) in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising solid titanium catalyst component (I) containing titanium, magnesium, halogen, and a compound with a specific structure having two or more ether linkages and organometallic catalyst component (II) with high catalytic activity. In this process, particularly even in (co)polymerizing (a) higher olefin(s), demineralization is unnecessary. A 4-methyl-1-pentene-based polymer obtained by polymerization using the catalyst of the present invention is excellent in tacticity, transparency, heat resistance, and releasability, and the polymer is particularly suitable for a release film.

For the purpose, polymerization catalyst composition which comprises the composition comprising organic oxysalt compound and hydroxycarbonyl compound having at least both an alcoholic hydroxyl group and a carbonyl group in the same molecule is provided and the polar unsaturated compound is polymerized by using the polymerization catalyst composition. The composition containing the obtained (co)polymer were able to provide thermosetting powder coating composition having particularly excellent characteristics.

A process for preparing phosphine oxides by reacting iminophosphoranes with phosphorus oxytrichloride by which highly purified phosphine oxides can be obtained industrially in a higher yield. Specifically, phosphine oxides are prepared in such a manner that iminophosphoranes are reacted with phosphorus oxytrichloride using an aprotic organic solvent with permittivity 2.2 or more at 20&deg; C. as a solvent under special reaction conditions to give a liquid reaction product containing phosphine oxides and aminophosphonium chlorides which are yielded as a by-product at the same time as the phosphine oxides, and the above described chlorides are removed from the above described liquid reaction product by a solid-liquid separation process, and the solution having been subjected to the solid-liquid separation process is washed with water.
