A cylindrically-shaped engine cooler for automobiles comprises a pair of water tanks or main coolant tubes, a plurality of water tubes connecting the water tanks or main coolant tubes, a plurality of cooling fins and at least one cooling fans. The cylindrical engine cooler is disposed in a vehicle so that the axis line of the cooler crosses the traveling line of a vehicle so that the air resistance against vehicle travel becomes small. The water tanks or main coolant tube can be used as the shroud for accommodating the cooling fan, when they are annularly shaped and disposed at the end of the cylindrically cooler. Two cooling fans disposed at the both ends of the cylindrically-shaped cooler may have different air-blowing capacity each other.

Engine cooler

A trochoidal oil pump including a housing defining an internal space; an outer rotor fitted rotatably in the internal space of the housing and having internal teeth; an inner rotor having outer teeth meshing with the internal teeth of the outer rotor to define a sealed space therebetween; and suction and discharge chambers formed in the housing and opened into the internal space of the same. The discharge member is formed to begin at an angle l formed in the direction of forward rotation from the dedendum to the beginning portion of the discharge chamber extending in the direction of forward rotation and defined by the following relationship:

A temperature responsive valve includes a bimetal disk which snaps in response to changes in temperature, a rod moved by the snapping action of the bimetal disk, a valve member in association with movement of the rod to thereby control the flow of fluid, and an adjustment member threaded through a body to properly adjust the range in movement of the valve member, the adjustment member being secured to the body after adjusting operation of the range of movement of the valve member.

Temperature responsive valve

A thermally responsive valve assembly having two ports and a valve mechanism interposed between the ports. The assembly employs a bimetallic element assembly including a pair of dish-shaped bimetallic elements of different thermally responsive character. Both bimetallic elements are connected each other so that a snap length of one of the bimetallic elements is cancelled by a snap length of the other bimetallic element at a predetermined temperature. The former bimetallic element is operatively connected to the valve mechanism so that the valve assembly can restore its former position as the temperature is being increased and provide a series of three modes of operation in successive steps on an increasing degree of temperature.

Thermally responsive valve assembly

The temperature responsive valve device controls a fluid passage within a valve body by opening a valve member at a low temperature, closing the valve member at an intermediate temperature and re-opening the valve member at a higher temperature. The valve member is controlled by two bimetal discs each of which is adapted to snap over center at differently selected temperatures and springs associated with the valve member and one of the bimetal discs respectively.

Temperature responsive valve device

A temperature responsive switch is provided which comprises a pair of bimetal discs having different temperature-deformation characteristics, a pair of fixed electrical contacts and a movable electrical contact. The movable contact engages one of the fixed contacts in response to a deformation of the pair of bimetal discs or remain free from engagement with either fixed contact. The engagement of the movable contact with one or the other of the fixed contacts and the absence of its engagement with either fixed contact constitute three conditionswhich permits a detection of a temperature of at least three different regions.

Temperature responsive switch

The thermally responsive valve device is comprised of a body having three passages therein, the first of which is adapted to be conected to a vacuum source while the second and third passages are each adapted to be connected to a suitable fluid operated device. The first passage is in constant fluid communication with two spaced apart fluid chambers within the body while the second and third passages are in selective communication with said chambers respectively. A valve member is located in each chamber for controlling communication of the second and third passages with their respective chambers. A pair of snapacting bimetallic disks are mounted in spaced relation within a third chamber in alignment with each other and each valve member. An operating rod is disposed in operative engagement between one of said disks and one of said valve members and a hollow tubular sleeve concentric with said rod is disposed in operative engagement between the other of said disk and the other of said valve members. A spring is operatively associated with each valve member for biasing the respective valve member toward said bimetallic disk to allow communication between said first passage and said second and third passages.

Thermally responsive valve device

A filter cap made of resinous material, and includes a housing with ceiling wall, a circumferential wall, an atmospheric port formed in the circumferential wall, and edges having a slanting surface. The filter cap reliably ensures installation in various devices and improves the corresponding assembly and resulting work efficiency of such devices. The filter cap can house an air filter in a predetermined location and protect an associated air passageway from water and foreign deposits such as, for example, mud.

A thermally responsive valve includes first and second bimetallic disks which are adapted to snap-over in response to first and second predetermined temperatures. First and second inlet ports are connected to vacuum and atmospheric pressure sources respectively and first and second outlet ports are connectable to first and second vacuum actuators respectively. The thermally responsive valve further includes first and second valve members, one of which controls the communication of vacuum to the first vacuum actuator in response to the snap-over action of the first bimetallic disk and the other of which controls the application of vacuum to said second vacuum actuator in response to the snap-over action of the second bimetallic disk. When communication between the vacuum source and the first and second vacuum actuators is interrupted by said first and second valve members, the first and second actuators will be then connected to the atmosphere through the second inlet port.

A thermally responsive valve device comprises a body member having an inlet port and outlet ports, a first passage communication between the inlet port and one of the outlet ports, a second passage communication between the inlet port and the other of the outlet ports, a valve seat positioned in the both passages, a valve means movable into and out of engagement with the valve seat, a bimetal disc movable in response to variations in temperature to close and open the first passage and second passage simultaneously.

A temperature responsive valve device including a body having first, second and third ports, a first passage member disposed between the first and second ports, a second passage member disposed between the second and third ports, a member defining an orifice arranged within the first passage member for delaying transmission of fluid therethrough, a first filter member arranged between the orifice member and the first port and within the first passage member, a second filter member arranged within the first and second passage members and between the orifice member and the second port as well as between the second and third ports, a passage defining member having an annular portion which contacts with the second filter member to thereby allow fluid communication between an inner portion of the annular portion with the first port and communication of an outer portion of the annular portion with the third port only through means of the second filter member, and a temperature responsive valve member for interrupting communication of the third port with the second port in response to change in temperature.

A temperature responsive valve assembly comprises a valve for controlling the fluid communication between fluid inlet and outlet passages containing therein a fluid to be controlled, a valve operating member operatively connected to the valve for operating the same in response to the temperature of a control fluid for controlling the valve assembly. The valve operating member is thermally separated from the fluid in the inlet and outlet passages so that it may sense only the temperature of the control fluid for controlling the valve assembly and the fluid to be controlled.

Temperature responsive valve assembly

A thermally responsive valve comprising a body separated into two portions and having an inlet port and an outlet port, two passages connecting the inlet port with the outlet port, a bimetal operated valve provided in one of two passages, and a check-valve provided in the other passage for permitting fluid flow from the inlet port to the outlet port. The check-valve is made of elastic material such as synthetic rubber and used as a sealing member between the two portions of the body.
