A viscosity coefficient calculation device includes a resistivity acquiring part that acquires, for each plurality of periods of time until a specific strains is generated when a load is applied to a sample, a value of deformation resistivity corresponding to an apparent modulus of elasticity when modulus of elasticity considered to be in accordance with Hook's law, and an output part that outputs a value of a viscosity coefficient of the sample from the value of the deformation resistivity for the each plurality of periods of time acquired by the resistivity acquiring part using a relational expression associating the deformation resistivity with the viscosity coefficient, the relational expression being a fractional function for periods of time, the relational expression analytically obtained by substituting the deformation resistivity into a first order differential equation for a stress and a strain obtained from a configuration expression of a viscoelasticity model.

A novel indentation test apparatus is provided. The indentation test apparatus is an apparatus for indenting a specimen with a spherical indenter. The indentation test apparatus includes a specimen thickness identifier) that identifies the thickness of the specimen, an equivalent indentation strain calculator that calculates equivalent indentation strain of the specimen by using the thickness of the specimen, and a Young's modulus calculator that calculates Young's modulus of the specimen by using the equivalent indentation strain. Young's modulus E of the specimen preferably ranges from 100 Pa to 100 MPa. The diameter of the spherical indenter preferably ranges from 1&#xd7;10to 1 m.

A viscoelasticity measuring apparatus that measures viscoelasticity of a measurement target with high precision is provided. The measuring apparatus includes: a casing; a surface contact part provided in the casing and brought into surface contact with skin; a ball indenter that moves toward the skin more than the surface contact part and is pushed into the skin; a driving unit that supports the ball indenter and moves the ball indenter toward the skin; a load cell whose right end side is fixed to the casing and left end side supports the driving unit, the load cell detecting a pushing load that pushes the ball indenter into the skin; and a control unit that obtains displacement of the ball indenter.

Viscoelasticity measuring apparatus

An actuator using a superelastic material characterized by a low heating temperature, excellent durability, and no necessity of composition adjustment is provided. An actuator () according to the invention includes a movable member operable in two directions, one direction and the other direction, and a pair of wire-like members made of a superelastic alloy and so attached to the movable member that the pair of wire-like members extend in the two respective directions and the same tensile force is applied thereto. The movable member is moved from a neutral position and left stationary in a predetermined position located along the one direction by applying a load to the movable member in the one direction and then removing the load, and the movable member is moved back from the predetermined position located along the one direction to the neutral position by applying a load to the movable member in the other direction and then removing the load.
