An electric apparatus includes an electric device that performs operation using electric power being supplied, a receiver that receives one or more control commands for controlling the electric device from a server through a network, a memory that stores control command history information including a content of one or more control commands that are previously received from the server, and circuitry that determines whether or not a control command is received from the server for a predetermined period of time, generates, if the control command is not received from the server for a predetermined period of time, other control command using the content stored in the control command history information, and controls, if the control command is not received from the server for the predetermined period of time, the electric device based on the other control command being generated.

An image forming device includes: an endless transport belt in which a plurality of through holes are formed, the transport belt circulating to carry sheets; a recording head with a plurality of nozzles through which ink droplets are discharged, the nozzles being arranged in a width direction of the transport belt. The image forming device performs preliminary discharge of ink droplets in which the ink droplets discharged through the nozzles pass through the through holes. The image forming device further includes: a sensor that detects an element to be detected formed on the transport belt when the transport belt circulates; and a preliminary discharge control unit that controls timings of discharge of ink droplets through the nozzles in the preliminary discharge based on a plurality of results of detecting the elements to be detected given from the sensor.

A GPS receiver displays information concerning a distance to a destination and a direction with respect to the destination and the like. The information is provided according to a preset operating condition on the basis of data which include position data of the destination which is set in advance and position data of the current position which is obtained from radio waves emitted from GPS satellites orbiting the earth. The GPS receiver includes a memory which stores data of operating conditions corresponding to first, second, third and fourth operation modes. The parameters of the operating conditions of the four operation modes are different from each other in at least a part thereof. The receiver further includes a mode selection section for selecting either one of the operation modes suitable for the actual use of the GPS receiver, an operating section for operating the mode selection section, and a display for displaying various information including information relating to navigation on the basis of the data corresponding to the operating condition of the selected operation mode.
