A drum type washing machine capable of realizing weight reduction and improvement in washing performance at low cost is provided. A drum type washing machine is disclosed. A pulsator is installed rotatably at a bottom of the drum rotatably accommodated in a tub. A motor configured to rotate forward and backward rotationally drives the drum and the pulsator. A control device executes a washing mode in which the motor is driven at a low rotation and a spinning mode in which the motor is driven at a high rotation. The pulsator and the drum have different velocity ratios. A second drive transmission element of the pulsator includes a clutch. Based on executing the washing mode, the drum is rotationally driven while the pulsator is rotationally driven or is allowed to idle. Based on executing the spinning mode, the drum is rotationally driven while the pulsator is allowed to idle.

Drum type washing machine and control method thereof

Disclosed herein is a washing machine capable of appropriately identifying the presence or absence of waterproof clothing. The washing machine includes a cabinet, an outer tub elastically supported on the inside of the cabinet, an inner tub rotatably provided inside of the water tub, a motor configured to rotate the inner tub, a vibration sensor provided in the outer tub, a rotation sensor provided in the motor; and a at least one processor electrically connected to the vibration sensor, the rotation sensor and the motor and configured to control a rotation speed of the motor based on a vibration of the outer tub detected by the vibration sensor and a rotation of the motor detected by the rotation sensor.

Washing machine and control method of the same

A control unit comprises a calculation unit, a determination unit, and a motor rotation control unit. The calculation unit calculates the rate of change in water level, which indicates the amount of change in water level per a predetermined period of time, on the basis of the result of sensing by a water level sensor in connection with a water supply stroke. The determination unit determines whether laundry having a waterproof property is contained in a drum or not on the basis of the rate of change in water level during the water supply stroke calculated by the calculation unit. When it is determined that laundry having a waterproof property is contained in the drum, the motor rotation control unit controls the operation of a driving motor such that the drum is rotated at a predetermined number of rotations or less during the dewatering stroke.

Washing machine and method for controlling same

The disclosure provides a washing machine capable of preventing abnormal vibration caused by waterproof clothing during the spin-dry. The washing machine according to the disclosure includes a spin tub receiving laundry; a vibration sensor attached to a water tub that supports the spin tub inside the water tub and capable of detecting vibrations in a plurality of directions; and a processor configured to control rotation of the spin tub and determine a vibration type based on a detection value of the vibration sensor to determine whether there is waterproof clothing in the laundry.
