The present invention provides a recording apparatus having a detachable automatic sheet supplying apparatus, wherein a projection protruding substantially in a horizontal direction is formed on the recording system or on the automatic sheet supplying apparatus, so that they can stand by themselves; a recess is formed in the automatic sheet supplying appparatus or in the recording system; and the recording system is connected to the automatic sheet supplying apparatus by fitting the projection into the recess.

This invention may be used as a system in which a scanner for reading an original document and a recording apparatus are combined, and aims to provide an image information processing apparatus which facilitates the transportation of the system, and an image information processing system. A printer and a scanner can be mounted to each other by accurate positioning when positioning projections provided in the printer are engaged with positioning holes corresponding to the projections on the scanner side, and this mounting is fixed by the engagement of a hook on the scanner side with a recess on the printer side. This specification discloses a recording apparatus for recording an image corresponding to image information on a sheet. The thermal printer pertinent to the present invention is of the type in which a heat sensitive paper having a coating of heat sensitive material on the upper side and a coating of heat fusible ink on the backside is used. A thermal head is brought into contact with the upper side surface under pressure to transfer the ink coated on the backside of the heat sensitive paper onto a common paper. According to the invention, a feed source of the heat sensitive paper and a feed source of the common paper are provided separately at different positions.
