A card connector,comprising a card member,having card-side terminals,on the leading edge thereof, a card holding member,which has mother-apparatus-side terminals on the leading edge thereof and which the card member,can be inserted in and extracted from, and a slider,which slides inside the card holding member,along with the insertion and extraction of the card member,. An oscillating member,which can oscillate freely is provided in the slider,, an engaging protrusion,which engages with the engaging indention on the card member,is formed in the mid section of the oscillating member,, and a cam protrusion,is provided at the tip of the oscillating member,. A cam groove,is provided on the inside side wall of the card holding member,in opposition to the tip of the cam protrusion,. By means of the cam mechanism consisting of the cam protrusion,and the cam grove,, the card member,is held in the card holding member,in the state where the card-side terminals,are in contact with the mother-apparatus-side terminals,as a result of the card member,being pushed into the card holding member,, and the card member,is positioned and held in the position where it can be inserted in and extracted from the card holding member

A magnetic recording and reproducing device includes a main body having a surface forming a gripping surface and also having a cassette insertion port through which a tape cassette can be loaded or unloaded, a cassette holder pivotally supported inside the main body of the device for holding the tape cassette and storing it at a tape cassette loaded position within the main body, a lid member for opening or closing the cassette insertion port as the cassette holder pivots and for forming part of the grip part when the cassette insertion port is closed, and a resilient member coupled to the cassette holder and the lid member for biasing the lid member toward the cassette holder when the cassette holder is stored at the tape cassette loaded position so that the circumferencial edge of the lid member abuts the circumferential edge of the cassette insertion port.
