The present invention provides an alkali-free glass sheet, including as a glass composition, in terms of mol %, 60% to 74% of SiO, 6% to 20% of AlO, 0% to 9% of BO, 1% to 13% of MgO, 1% to 13% of CaO, 0% to 7% of SrO, 0% to 8% of BaO, and 0% to less than 1.0% of YO+LaO, being substantially free of an alkali metal oxide, and having a strain point of 650° C. or more.

The present invention provides an alkali-free glass sheet, including as a glass composition, in terms of mol %, 55% to 80% of SiO, 10% to 25% of AlO, 0% to 4% of BO, 0% to 30% of MgO, 0% to 25% of CaO, 0% to 15% of SrO, 0% to 15% of BaO, 0% to 5% of ZnO, and 0% to less than 1.0% of YO+LaO, being substantially free of an alkali metal oxide, and having a strain point of 750° C. or more.

A glass sheet of the present invention is characterized in that: the glass sheet has a refractive index nd of from 1.55 to 2.30; an angle formed by a principal surface and an end surface is from 85° to 90°; and the end surface has a surface roughness Ra of 1 μm or less.

A glass sheet of the present invention is characterized in that: the glass sheet has a refractive index nd of from 1.55 to 2.30; the glass sheet has an inclined surface in at least a part of an end surface; an angle formed by the inclined surface and a principal surface is from 5&#xb0; to 85&#xb0;; and the inclined surface has a surface roughness Ra of 1 &#x3bc;m or less.

Provided is a composite substrate, including a glass sheet and a resin sheet bonded to each other, in which the glass sheet has a refractive index nd of 1.55 or more and 2.3 or less and the resin sheet has a refractive index nd of 1.55 or more and 2.3 or less.

Provided is a high refractive index glass, comprising, as a glass composition in terms of mass %, 0 to 10% of BO, 0.001 to 35% of SrO, 0.001 to 30% of ZrO+TiO, and 0 to 10% of LaO+NbO, having a mass ratio of BaO/SrO of 0 to 40 and a mass ratio of SiO/SrO of 0.1 to 40, and having a refractive index nd of 1.55 to 2.3.
