A hydrogen storage alloy suitable for a negative electrode of an on-board alkaline storage battery, an alkaline storage battery using this hydrogen storage alloy, and a vehicle; wherein a fine-grained hydrogen storage alloy is used for an alkaline storage battery that has a crystal structure of an AB-type structure as a main phase and is represented by a general formula: (LaSm)MgNiAlCr(where suffixes a, b, c, d, and e meet the following conditions: 0≤a≤0.35, 0.15≤b≤0.30, 0.02≤d≤0.10, 0≤e≤0.10, 3.20≤c+d+e≤3.50, and 0<a+e), and an alkaline storage battery using this hydrogen storage alloy for a negative electrode. A vehicle also includes this alkaline storage battery as an electricity supply source for a motor.

Negative electrode active material, negative electrode, alkaline storage battery, and method of producing negative electrode active material

A secondary battery is provided with first and second electrode assembly bodies and first and second negative electrode tab groups. The first and second negative electrode tab groups respectively have collected foil portions each constituted by a plurality of collected tab portions and extension portions. The extension portions of the respective tab groups have portions-to-be-welded and step portions. In the step portions, the plurality of tabs are laminated in a state that the end portions thereof are shifted in a step-like manner. The secondary battery is provided with an overlapped portion where the step portions of the first negative electrode tab group and the second negative electrode tab group are overlapped with each other in the lamination direction of the negative electrode tabs.

Power storage device

An alkaline storage battery includes a plurality of foil electrodes that each have a metal foil and an active material layer. The active material layers are arranged in such a manner that adjacent two of the active material layers face each other. Separators which are each interposed between the adjacent two of the active material layers. The separators are each a nonwoven fabric including fibers as protruding portions. The active material layers have a large number of active material particles which adhere to each other, and spaces formed between the active material particles, as fitting portions. The fibers are engaged with the spaces while the fibers enter the spaces.

Alkaline storage battery and method of manufacturing the same

A first electrode sheet includes respective active material layers on a first face of a positive electrode metal foil and an opposing second face. The first face active material layer includes a parallel section along the first face, a tapered section between a positive electrode first lateral side of the first face and a first face parallel section and inclined inward towards a current collector inner region relative to a thickness direction of the first face active material layer, and a curved section forming a curved surface between and across the first face parallel and the first face tapered sections. A separator includes a first separator covering the side of the positive electrode metal foil first face, and a second separator covering the side of the second face. A first separator part lying flush against and contacting the first face tapered section arranged along the first face tapered section.

A shielding member is arranged between the inner surface of the wall and the end surface of the electrode assembly. A power storage device includes an electrode assembly, a case that houses the electrode assembly, and an insulating sheet, which insulates the electrode assembly and the case from each other. The electrode assembly has a layered structure in which positive electrodes and negative electrodes are stacked. The electrode assembly has a first end face, which is orthogonal to the stacking direction, two primary faces, which are located on both sides in the stacking direction, and a tab, which extends on the first end face in the direction orthogonal to the stacking direction. The insulating sheet has a folded box shape, and further has two primary face covering portions, which respectively cover the primary faces of the electrode assembly, and non-primary-face covering portions, which cover the first end face of the electrode assembly and faces other than the primary faces thereof and are continuous with the primary face covering portions. The non-primary face covering portions overlap at least partially with each other.

The electric storage device includes an electrode assembly having a positive electrode and a negative electrode, a case for housing the electrode assembly, a pressure relief valve, and positive and negative electrode conductive members that are electrically connected to the respective corresponding electrodes. The case has a wall in which the pressure relief valve is disposed. At least one of the positive and negative electrode conductive members includes an interposing portion located between the inner surface of the wall and an end face of the electrode assembly facing the inner surface, and a shielding portion located closer to the end face of the electrode assembly than the interposing portion. The shielding portion covers the pressure release valve from a side of the wall where the electrode assembly is located.

Electric storage device

The electricity storage device includes an electrode assembly, a case, and a holding tape. The electrode assembly further includes a bottom surface, which is supported by an inner bottom surface of the case, two end faces in a lamination direction, which are joined to the bottom face, two side surfaces, which are joined to the bottom surface and intersect with the end surfaces, and two corner sections, which are formed from the bottom surface and the side surfaces. Each corner section includes a chamfered section, and a border section between the chamfered section and the bottom surface. The holding tape covers the border section from the bottom surface in a direction parallel to the bottom surface and orthogonal to the stacking direction, further inward of the electrode assembly than the side surface.

A power storage apparatus includes bag-shaped separators. Each of the bag-shaped separators includes a first welded portion and a first non-welded portion. The first welded portion exists along a first edge of the bag-shaped separator and is formed by welding the surplus sections of the separator members together. In the first non-welded portion, the separator members are not welded together. The bag-shaped separator includes a second welded portion and a second non-welded portion. The second welded portion exists along a second edge and is formed by welding the surplus sections of the separator members together. The second non-welded portion is located closer to the second edge than the second welded portion. In the second non-welded portion, the separator members are not welded together. In the power storage apparatus, the width of the first non-welded portion&#x3e;the width of the second non-welded portion.

A power storage module includes a cylindrical resin portion that extends in a direction in which a plurality of bipolar electrodes is stacked and that accommodates therein the plurality of the bipolar electrodes. The resin portion includes a first seal portion that has a cylindrical shape and is joined to peripheral edge portions of a plurality of electrode plate, and a second seal portion that has a cylindrical shape and is disposed outside the first seal portion in a direction that crosses the stacking direction of the bipolar electrodes. A plurality of separators is disposed such that outer peripheral ends of the separators are located between an outer peripheral end of the first seal portion and an inner peripheral end of the first seal portion.

Power storage module

The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electricity storage device, the positive electrode and negative electrode of which can be protected when housing an electrode assembly body into a case main body. A secondary battery of the present invention has a lid terminal member formed by integrating: a lid; a positive electrode terminal and a negative electrode terminal; a positive electrode conductive member and a negative electrode conductive member; and an insulating member. The lid terminal member is integrated with an electrode assembly body through a positive electrode tab group and a negative electrode tab group. The electrode assembly body includes an electrode housing separator and a negative electrode each having a bottom-side contact portion contacting the inner bottom surface of a case main body. The electrode housing separator also has a lid-side contact portion contacting the lid terminal member.

Electricity storage device

A bipolar electrode includes a metal foil, a first active material layer provided on a front surface of the metal foil, and a second active material layer having a larger area than the first active material layer and provided on a rear surface of the metal foil. The second active material layer includes a low density region disposed in a peripheral portion in plan view as viewed from a thickness direction of the metal foil, and a high density region disposed more inside than the low density region and having a smaller porosity than the low density region.

Bipolar electrode for nickel-hydrogen storage battery and nickel-hydrogen storage battery

A positive electrode plate includes a front positive electrode active material layer on a front surface of a positive electrode metal foil, and having a positive electrode large tapered portion that extends at an incline from one edge of the front surface of the positive electrode metal foil at a positive electrode large inclination angle. A negative electrode plate includes a front negative electrode active material layer on a front surface of a negative electrode metal foil, and having a negative electrode large tapered portion that extends at an incline from one edge of the front surface of the negative electrode metal foil at a negative electrode large inclination angle. The positive and negative electrode plates are alternately laminated with a separator interposed therebetween such that each of their front surfaces is oriented in the same direction in the rear-to-front directional axis along the thickness of the plates.
