A display device used in a vehicle for displaying virtual images includes: a display including a light source to emit image light and a screen on which the image light is projected; and a controller to adjust positions at which the virtual images are displayed. Images displayed on the screen are projected as the virtual images. The virtual images include first and second virtual images displayed at different positions. The display displays, on the screen, a first adjustment image that is projected to a display area of the first virtual image and a second adjustment image that is projected to a display area of the second virtual image. The controller adjusts a position of the display area of the first virtual image and a position of the display area of the second virtual image on a basis of the first adjustment image and the second adjustment image.

Display device and adjustment method

A projection optical instrument includes a light source unit, a projection optical member and a support part. The light source unit emits light. The projection optical member transforms the light emitted from the light source unit into projection light. The support part supports the projection optical member to be movable with respect to the light source unit in at least one direction orthogonal to an optical axis direction of the light source unit. When vibration is applied to at least one of the light source unit and the projection optical member, the projection optical member accordingly vibrates with respect to the light source unit in a direction orthogonal to the optical axis direction of the light source unit.

Projection optical instrument and headlight device

A headlight module includes: a light source that emits light; a projection lens that receives and emits the light; a holder including a flexible portion having a length in a direction of an optical axis of the lens and having a fixed end and a movable end, the holder holding the lens movably relative to the light source by holding the lens with the movable end; and a driver that moves the lens. The lens is translated on a plane perpendicular to the axis due to deflection of the flexible portion. The holder includes first and second flexible portions including plate-like portions parallel to the axis and perpendicular to each other. One end of the first flexible portion is the fixed end. Another end of the first flexible portion is connected to one end of the second flexible portion. Another end of the second flexible portion is the movable end.

Vehicle headlight device

A vehicle headlight deviceincludes a light source, a Dove prism, and a rotation mechanism. The light sourceemits light. The Dove prismchanges a propagation direction of light received at an incidence surfaceto bring the light to a reflecting surface, and changes a propagation direction of light reflected at the reflecting surfaceto output the light from an exit surface. The rotation mechanismrotatably supports the Dove prismabout a line which passes through the incidence surfaceand the exit surfaceas an axis of rotation R, and rotates the Dove prismin a direction opposite to a bank direction of a vehicle body in accordance with a bank angle k of the vehicle body.

A liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal cell member, a light regulating member, a reflective polarizing member, and a control unit. The liquid crystal cell member has a first liquid crystal layer. An optical transmittance of the light regulating member changes with the application state of a second voltage. The reflective polarizing member transmits specific polarized light and reflects other polarized light. The polarization direction of light that is incident on the reflective polarizing member from the first liquid crystal layer is the same as the polarization direction of light transmitted by the reflective polarizing member. The control unit alters the application state of the second voltage in such a manner that the transmittance of the light regulating member when a backlight unit is on is higher than the transmittance of the light regulating member when the backlight unit is off.

Liquid crystal display device

To obtain a reinforcing frame capable of securing sufficient reinforcing strength and adhesive strength while suppressing a manufacturing cost by omitting a rim-like frame. A reinforcing frame is adhered to a rear surface, which is a non-light receiving surface of a solar battery panel, and includes a cylindrical portion that has a cylindrical shape along a longitudinal direction of the reinforcing frame and on which an adhesive surface for adhering to the solar battery panel is formed, and protruding portions that protrude from end portions along a longitudinal direction of the adhesive surface and that are substantially parallel to the adhesive surface.

Reinforcing frame and solar battery module

A reflector mounting structure includes a reflector and a fixing member. The reflector includes: a reflecting surface; a reflector body having the reflecting surface formed thereon; a pair of first connecting units provided respectively at an end face of the reflector body and having a substantially spherical first protrusion at an end thereof; and a second connecting unit provided at an end face of the reflector body. The fixing member which supports the reflector includes a pair of first supporting units respectively having a planar contact portion and bringing the contact portion into contact with an end of the first protrusion, and a second supporting unit. A contact-portion vertical distance is set such that the first protrusion moves while rolling with respect to a contact portion when the reflector deforms.

Reflector mounting structure and projection display device

An oscillation drive device includes an oscillating unit that includes attaching portions on either sides thereof, the attaching portions being arranged on an oscillation axis; a base that includes an oscillating fulcrum that supports the oscillating unit on the oscillation axis and supporting portions that firmly support the oscillating unit; and a pair of strip-shaped leaf springs that is arranged so as to intersect with the oscillation axis and oscillates the oscillating unit on the oscillation axis, each of the strip-shaped leaf springs includes a fixing portion attached to the attaching portions of the oscillating unit; and a flexible beam portion that both ends of which are attached to the supporting portions of the base, and causes the oscillating unit to oscillate on the base by flexure behavior thereof.

Oscillation drive device

A projection type image display apparatus includes an optical engine that emits a light according to image signal, a Fresnel lens on which the light emitted by the optical engine is incident and emitting the light as a parallel light, and a diffusion member that diffuses the parallel light emitted by the Fresnel lens. The projection type image display apparatus further includes a driving unit that moves the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member in a plane parallel to an emitting surface of the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member, a frame the supports the Fresnel lens, the diffusion member and the driving unit, a resilient supporting body that supports a weight of the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member with respect to the frame, and a holding unit that holds the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member so as to be movable in the plane parallel to the emitting surface of the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member.

Projection type image display apparatus

A drive is provided executing high-speed oscillatory motion. A voice coil motor in a pixel shifter includes a coil of a rectangular shape producing thrust along an axis, a flap fixing the coil, and flat springs giving to the flap an urging force against the thrust. An oscillation axis of the flap is parallel to the axis and located between another axis that is parallel and opposite to the axis and still another axis that is parallel to the axis and passes over a centroid of the coil. This reduces the value of the inertia per unit torque.

Drive with voice coil motor

A projection apparatus includes an optical engine () that projects an image on a screen from a rear side, an engine supporting plate () on which the optical engine () is placed, an adjusting member () of a substantially wedge-shape inserted into between a base portion () and a lower surface of the engine supporting plate () so that front or rear end of the engine supporting plate () is vertically rotatable, a front-to-rear position adjusting unit () capable of moving the adjusting member () in front-to-rear direction, a slope portion () having a slope surface () that gradually increases or decreases an angle of a surface of the adjusting member () contacting the engine supporting plate () in accordance with a movement of the adjusting member (), and a fixing unit () that fixes the engine supporting plate () to an adjusted position.

Projection apparatus

In a projection-type image display device, a driven member of a screen is displaced in a plane parallel to the screen. The driven member can be a Fresnel lens or a diffusing member. An elastic retaining unit holds the driven member in such a manner as to be capable of moving in the plane parallel to the screen, and a pair of driving sources applies driving forces in mutually intersecting directions to the driven member. A control circuit drives the pair of driving sources with driving waveforms having a prescribed phase difference therebetween so that the driven member makes continuous motion in a plane parallel to the screen when an image is projected.

Projection-type image display device

An aperture driving apparatus includes a swing unit and a stationary unit. The swing unit includes an aperture plate that partially blocks a light, a coil that constitute a voice coil motor for obtaining a driving force for driving the aperture driving plate, and a swing arm that supports the aperture plate and the coil and has a bearing portion between the aperture plate and the coil. The stationary unit includes a swing shaft that engages the bearing portion and swingably supports the swing arm about a swing axis, and a magnet and a yoke that constitute the voice coil motor together with the coil. A control unit of the aperture driving apparatus controls the swing angle of the swing arm using a closed-loop control technique. In the direction of the swing axis, the position of a center of gravity of the swing unit is substantially aligned with a position at which the driving force is applied to the coil.

Aperture driving apparatus and projection type image display apparatus

An image display projector is provided so as to reduce scintillation. The image display projector comprises: an optical engine for emitting light according to an inputted imaging signal; a Fresnel lens disposed to receive the light emitted from the optical engine, for emitting the incident light as collimated one; a diffusion member, placed in front of the Fresnel lens in the light-traveling direction, for diffusing the collimated light emitted from the Fresnel lens; and a drive unit for moving either the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member, along a predetermined track (orbit), in a plane parallel to either the plane from which the collimated light or the diffused light is emitted. And then, the moving velocity of either the Fresnel lens or the diffusion member is at any moment larger than zero in any direction within the parallel plane.
