A discharge valve assembly for use in a fluid displacement apparatus has a suction chamber and a discharge chamber on one side of a valve plate, a compression chamber on the other side of the valve plate and a passage formed in the valve plate extending between the compression chamber and the discharge chamber. The discharge valve assembly comprises a valve limiting device secured to the valve plate for limiting the bending movement of a valve member. The valve member is bent away from the valve plate when all external pressure influences are removed. Noise and vibration caused by the striking of the valve member against the valve seat and the retainer member are thereby decreased.

Valved discharge mechanism of a fluid displacement apparatus

A refrigerant compressor includes a compressor housing defining a chamber in which successive strokes of intake, compression, and discharge of a refrigerant gas are repeatedly performed. The chamber is divided into a compression chamber and a discharge chamber by a valve plate. A discharge hole links the compression chamber to the discharge chamber. The valve plate includes an end surface which faces the discharge chamber. A discharge valve regulates a flow of the refrigerant gas from the compression chamber to the discharge chamber. A valve retainer limits the bending movement of the discharge valve in the direction in which the refrigerant gas exits the discharge hole. The valve retainer is secured to an axial end surface of the valve plate together with the discharge valve by a fixing bolt. The discharge valve bends as it opens and closes the discharge hole. The valve plate includes an annular groove formed at the end surface thereof. The annular groove surrounds the discharge hole and is entirely overlaid by the discharge valve. Also, an air gap may be formed between the discharge valve and the valve plate. Thereby, noise due to resonant vibration caused by the discharge valve can be effectively reduced or eliminated.

Valved discharge mechanism in a refrigerant compressor

A scroll type compressor with a variable displacement mechanism is disclosed and includes a housing having an inlet port and an outlet port. A fixed scroll is fixedly disposed within the housing and has a first circular end plate from which a first spiral element extends. An orbiting scroll includes a second spiral element interfitting with the spiral element. The first circular end plate partitions an inner chamber of the compressor housing into a front suction chamber linked to the inlet port, and a rear chamber. The rear chamber is further divided by a wall of said housing into a discharge chamber linked to the fluid outlet port and an intermediate pressure chamber. At least one pair of holes is formed through the circular end plate of the fixed scroll forming a fluid channel between fluid pockets formed between the spiral elements of the scrolls and the intermediate pressure chamber. A communicating channel is formed through the circular end plate of the fixed scroll providing a fluid channel which links the intermediate pressure chamber with the front chamber. A control mechanism is disposed in the housing of the compressor adjacent the intermediate pressure chamber and controls the link of the intermediate pressure chamber to the suction chamber. The control mechanism includes a piston slidably disclosed within a cylinder, and a bellows element disposed within the piston. The bellows element includes a bellows and a valve element and is responsive to the suction pressure to control the link between the suction chamber and the central fluid pocket. The piston element is responsive to the pressure in the central fluid pocket to control the link between the intermediate pressure chamber and the suction chamber to control the capacity of the compressor.

Scroll type compressor with variable displacement mechanism

A variable displacement type compressor is disclosed. The compressor includes a housing having fluid inlet and fluid outlet ports. A fixed scroll is disposed within the housing and has a circular end plate from which a first spiral element extends. The end plate of the fixed scroll partitions the inner chamber of the compressor housing into a front chamber connected to the fluid inlet port and a rear chamber. The rear chamber is divided into a discharge chamber connected to the fluid outlet port and an intermediate pressure chamber. The end plate of the fixed scroll has at least two holes which connect the fluid pockets to the intermediate pressure chamber. The end plate also has a communicating channel which connects the front chamber to the intermediate chamber. A control device controls the communication between the front chamber and intermediate pressure chamber. The control device is disposed on the intermediate pressure chamber and comprises first and second valve elements. The first valve element of the control device is operated by pressure from the discharge chamber. Pressure from the discharge chamber is controlled by the second valve element. The first valve element includes a cylinder and a piston slidably disposed within the cylinder. The cylinder has first and second openings. The first opening is formed at the intermediate pressure chamber side. The second opening is formed at the communicating channel side. A bottom end of the piston closes the second opening, when a top end of the piston receives discharge gas pressure.

A scroll type compressor is disclosed which includes a housing with an inner chamber and fluid inlet and outlet ports connected to the inner chamber. A fixed scroll, which is mounted within the housing, has an end plate from which a first spiral wrap extends. An orbiting scroll also is mounted within the housing for orbital motion with respect to the fixed scroll. The orbiting scroll has an end plate from which a second spiral wrap extends; and the first and second wraps interfit to define at least one pair of sealed off fluid pockets. The end plate of the fixed scroll partitions the inner chamber of the housing into a suction chamber and rear chamber. The end plate of the fixed scroll has at least one pair of holes for adjusting the displacement of the compressor. A control mechanism selectively controls fluid communication through the holes. The axial end surface of the second wrap is provided with a seal element which forms an axial seal between the second wrap and the end plate of the fixed scroll. An anti-wear plate is disposed on the end surface of the fixed end plate to prevent from friction between the seal element and end surface of the end plate. The anti-wear plate has cut-out portions facing the holes. Each cut-out portion has a predetermined shape and area to prevent cutting of the seal element and to minimize pressure loss.

Scroll type compressor with seal supporting anti-wear plate portions

A scroll type compressor with a variable displacement mechanism is disclosed. The compressor includes a housing having fluid inlet and outlet ports. A fixed scroll is fixed within the housing and has a circular end plate from which a first spiral element extends. The end plate of fixed scroll partitions the inner chamber of housing into a front chamber, which includes a suction chamber connected to the fluid inlet port, and a rear chamber. The rear chamber is divided into a discharge chamber connected to the fluid outlet port and an intermediate pressure chamber. The end plate of the fixed scroll has at least two holes which connect the fluid pockets to the intermediate pressure chamber. A control device controls communication between the suction chamber and the intermediate pressure chamber and includes communicating mechanism. The communicating mechanism leaks compressed fluid in the cylinder at an increased rate into the suction chamber after the cylinder has moved upward a predetermined distance in order to effect stable operation of the displacement varying mechanism.

Scroll compressor with control device for variable displacement mechanism

A variable displacement type compressor is disclosed. The compressor includes a housing having fluid inlet and fluid outlet ports. A fixed scroll is fixed within the housing and has a circular end plate from which a first spiral element extends. The end plate of the fixed scroll partitions the inner chamber of the compressor housing into a front chamber connected to the fluid inlet port and a rear chamber. The rear chamber is divided into a discharge chamber connected to the fluid outlet port and an intermediate pressure chamber. The end plate of the fixed scroll has at least two holes which connect the fluid pockets to the intermediate pressure chamber. The end plate also has a communicating channel which connects the front chamber to the intermediate chamber. A control device controls the communication between the front chamber and intermediate pressure chamber. The control device is disposed on the intermediate pressure chamber, and a valve element of the control means is operated by pressure from the discharge chamber.

A scroll type fluid compressor with a capacity adjusting mechanism is disclosed. The compressor includes a housing, a first fluid inlet port, a second fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port. A fixed scroll member is disposed within the housing and has a circular end plate from which a first wrap extends. The end plate of the fixed scroll member partitions the inner chamber of the housing into a front chamber and a rear chamber. The rear chamber is divided into a discharge chamber connected to the fluid outlet port, a first suction chamber connected to the first fluid inlet port and a second suction chamber connected to the second fluid inlet port. An orbiting scroll member is disposed in the front chamber and also has a circular end plate from which a second wrap extends. Both wraps interfit at angular and radial offsets to form a plurality of line contacts to define at least one pair of sealed off fluid pockets. The end plate of the fixed scroll member has a hole at an outer peripheral portion thereof which connects the first suction chamber to the front chamber. The end plate also has a pair of holes which are placed at symmetrical positions and which connect the fluid pockets to the second suction chamber. Valve means is disposed in the communication line between the external fluid circuit and the connecting line of the first and second inlet ports to sectively control the connection therebetween.

Variable capacity scroll type fluid compressor

A lubricating mechanism for a scroll-type fluid displacement apparatus is disclosed. A driving mechanism for an orbiting scroll comprises a drive shaft and a drive pin projecting at an eccentric location from an inner end surface of the drive shaft. An annular boss projecting from a circular end plate of the orbiting scroll receives the drive pin. Therefore, the orbiting scroll is rotatably supported on the drive pin. The lubricating mechanism includes an oil passageway formed in the circular end plate of the orbiting scroll to communicate between the interior of the boss and one of the fluid packets located at the outer peripheral portion of the spiral elements. Lubricating oil thus flows into the interior of the boss and lubricates the bearing and other contact surface disposed in the center portion of the apparatus.

Lubricating mechanism for scroll-type fluid displacement apparatus

A scroll type compressor including a housing, a fixed scroll which is joined to the housing and including a first end plate from which a first wrap extends and an orbiting scroll which includes a second end plate from which a second wrap extends. The wraps interfit at an angular and radial offset to make a plurality of line contacts to define at least one pair of sealed off fluid pockets. The first end plate is formed with a plurality of pairs of holes, the holes of each pair of holes being placed at symmetrical positions. The most inwardly placed hole is placed at a location defined by involute angles within the area defined by .phi.end-2(n-1).pi.&gt;.phi.1&gt;.phi.end-2n , where .phi.end is the final involute angle of the wrap which extends from the end plate having the holes, .phi.1 is the involute angle at which the hole is placed and n is the amount of pairs of holes. The most outwardly placed hole is placed at a location defined by involute angles within the area defined by .phi.n-1+2.pi.&gt;.phi.n&gt;.phi.end-2.pi.. The intermediate holes are located within an area defined by .phi.k-1+2.pi.&gt;.phi.k&gt;.phi.k+1-2.pi., where .phi.k is the involute angle at which hole kth from the most inwardly placed hole is located. A control mechanism controls the opening and closing of the holes to thereby control the capacity or displacement volume of the compressor.

Scroll type compressor with displacement adjusting mechanism

A scroll type compressor is disclosed. The compressor includes a housing having a fluid inlet port and an outlet port. A fixed scroll is fixed within the housing and has a circular end plate from which a first wrap extends. The end plate of the fixed scroll partitions the inner chamber of the housing into a front chamber connected to the fluid inlet port and a rear chamber. The rear chamber is divided into a central chamber connected to the fluid outlet port and an outer chamber. An orbiting scroll, which is disposed in the front chamber, also has a circular end plate from which a second wrap extends. Both wraps interfit at angular and radial offsets to form a plurality of line contacts to define at least one pair of sealed off fluid pockets. The end plate of the fixed scroll has at least two holes which are placed at symmetrical position and connect the fluid pockets to the outer chamber. The end plate also has a communicating hole which connects the first chamber and the outer chamber. Valve members are disposed in the outer chamber for opening and closing each hole. A control mechanism which is disposed in the outer chamber controls the operation of the valve members.

A scroll type fluid displacement apparatus including a housing divided into a discharge chamber and a suction chamber is disclosed. A fixed scroll member is disposed within the housing and comprises a first end plate and a first wrap which extends from one end surface of the first end plate. The discharge chamber is formed adjacent the fixed scroll member on the side of the first end plate opposite the side thereof from which the first wrap extends. An annular shaped dividing wall is formed at the end surface of the first end plate and extends into the interior of the discharge chamber. The discharge chamber is partitioned into two chambers by the dividing wall. At least one hole is formed through the dividing wall to connect the two chambers of the discharge chamber. The dividing wall is provided with a deflecting member for bending the fluid flow of the discharging fluid. At least one oil separating member is disposed in a fluid passageway upstream of a fluid outlet port from the housing. The separation of lubricating oil from the discharging fluid is promoted and the outflow of the oil is minimized.

Scroll type fluid displacement apparatus with oil separating mechanism

A scroll type compressor is disclosed. The compressor includes a housing. A fixed scroll is joined to the housing and includes a first end plate from which a first wrap extends. An orbiting scroll also includes second end plate from which a second wrap extends. The wraps interfit at an angular and radial offset to make a plurality of line contacts to define at least one pair of sealed off fluid pockets. The first end plate is formed with at least two holes which are placed at the symmetrical positions. A first of the holes is placed at a location, defined by involute angles, within the area defined by .phi. end &gt;.phi.1&gt;.phi. end-2.pi., where .phi.0 end is the final involute angle of the wrap which extends from the end plate having the holes, and .phi. 1 is the involute angle at which the first hole is placed. The second hole is located at an involute angle approximately .phi.1-.pi.. A control mechanism controls the opening and closing of the holes to thereby control the capacity of compressor.
