To provide a light guide plate with reduced luminance unevenness. The light guide plate includes: a base portion having a one surface and a light incident surface disposed on one end side of the one surface and intersecting the one surface, and a plurality of convex lenses provided on a side facing the one surface of the base portion, each of the plurality of convex lenses extending in a first direction and aligned along a second direction which is substantially orthogonal to the first direction, where the base portion includes at least a first region relatively close to the light incident surface and a second region relatively far from the light incident surface, and where the first region is provided with a plurality of first bottom portions that are surfaces disposed between the convex lenses adjacent to each other in the second direction and inclined with respect to the first direction.

The disclosed subject matter includes providing a surface light source device with high brightness that can emit light from both surfaces and an LCD unit having the same qualities. The surface light device can include a light guide having a light incoming surface, a reflecting sheet located adjacent the light guide, a transparent sheet having a light incoming surface located adjacent the reflecting sheet and a light source located toward both light incoming surfaces. Light emitted from the light source can be configured to enter into the light guide and the transparent sheet via the light incoming surfaces. The light can be efficiently emitted in both directions from the light guide and the transparent sheet using the reflecting sheet. Therefore, an LCD unit that includes an LCD located adjacent the light guide and a second display located adjacent the transparent sheet can illuminate displays with higher brightness.

Disclosed is a curable silicone composition comprising: (A) an organopolysiloxane having a silicon-bonded unsaturated aliphatic radical; (B) an organopolysiloxane having a silicon-bonded mercaptoalkyl radical; and (C) a photoreaction-initiating amount of photoreaction initiator. A photocurable adhesive composition for glass is disclosed, comprising (A) 100 parts by weight of a polyorganosiloxane having an average compositional formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group except for a vinyl group; 0&lt;a.ltoreq.1; 0&lt;b.ltoreq.2; and 1&lt;a+b&lt;3, (B) from 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of an aromatic ketone photo reaction initiator, and (c) from 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of a trialkenyl isocyanurate or a derivative thereof. The composition, when applied between glass plates or between a glass plate and other materials, can be cured with a small curing shrinkage by short-term irradiation of light transmitted by the glass plate. The cured composition exhibits satisfactory adhesion and excellent resistance to moisture and heat.

There is provided herein a curable silicone elastomer composition comprising the following components: (A) 100 parts by weight of a polyorganosiloxane having at least two silicon-bonded vinyl groups per molecule, (B) 1 to 300 parts by weight of fine powders of tungsten carbide and (C) a component for crosslinking of said component (A) selected from the group consisting of (1) a combination of (a) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a polyorganohydrogensiloxane having an average of at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule and (b) 0.000001 to 0.1 part by weight of a platinum catalyst; (2) a combination of said (a), (b) and (c) 0.00001 part to less than 0.1 part by weight of an organic peroxide except from organohydroperoxide; (3) a combination of said (a) and (d) 0.00001 part to less than 0.2 part by weight of the reaction product between said (b) and (c); and (4) 0.1 to 3.0 parts by weight of an organic peroxide except from organohydroperoxide. The composition according to the present invention shows excellent X-xay shielding effect as well as excellent anticoagulative effect, and can give an elastomer of high quality by curing with a broad scope of catalyst systems.
