An optical filter includes a substrate and a dielectric multilayer film laid as an outermost layer on at least one major surface of the substrate. The dielectric multilayer film includes a low-refractive index film and a high-refractive index film provided alternately. At least one film selected from the group consisting of the low-refractive index film and the high-refractive index film satisfies the following optical characteristics (i-1) and (i-2A): (i-1) an extinction coefficient kat a wavelength of 600 nm is 0.12 or larger; and (i-2A) a minimum extinction coefficient kin a wavelength range of 1530 to 1570 nm is 0.01 or smaller; and the optical filter satisfies the following optical characteristic (ii-1A): (ii-1A) light in a wavelength range of 400 to 680 nm is blocked and light in the wavelength range of 1530 to 1570 nm is transmitted.

Optical filter

A sensor cover, provided in an opening of a housing that houses a sensor, includes a conductor; a dielectric multilayer film; and a heating film, in a desired order from an outside of the housing toward an inside of the housing. The conductor and the heating film are insulated from each other. A shortest distance between the conductor and the heating film is 2.0 μm or more.

A homogenizer includes a convex-lens array pair including a first convex-lens array disposed on a light entrance side and a second convex-lens array disposed on a light emission side. An optical filter is provided with a structure that contains a green coloring matter and a black coloring matter and satisfies the following requirements (i) and (ii). Further a device is provided with such an optical filter. (i) An average transmittance of light in the wavelength range of 400 to 730 nm is 2% or less. An image light projection screen has a plurality of aperiodic lens array units on a main surface. The aperiodic lens array units are arrayed two-dimensionally regularly and without any gap at least in an image display region. Each aperiodic lens array unit includes at least four apexes of micro-lenses each having a curved surface shape and arranged without any gap and non-periodically, and has symmetry keeping continuity of the curved surface shapes of the micro-lenses located in a boundary portion.

A scanning display device includes: a light source section including at least one light source configured to emitting coherent light; a light scanning section including: a scan mirror configured to reflect the light originated from the light source section and scan over a screen; and a turning section configured to turn the scan mirror; a depolarizer having outgoing polarized light distribution in which a state of polarization of outgoing light consecutively changes within an element plane, wherein: the depolarizer is placed in an optical path along which the light emitted by the light source section reaches the screen; and the state of polarization of the light is changed, thereby scanning the screen with light that has a polarized light distribution, in which the state of polarization consecutively changes, in a beam diameter.

Scanning display device and speckle reduction method

A depolarization element includes high depolarization for light beams having coherence and plural wavelengths and also provides a projection type display device capable of reducing speckle noise. Unit regions, each formed of m regions (m&#x2267;4) having different phase differences generated for incident light, are disposed, and two regions extracted from the m regions have at least one combination of regions being different in area. When plural light beams having different wavelengths are incident, the composition of the Stokes vectors of the light beams emitted from the respective m regions is made nearly zero by setting the areas of the respective m regions and the generated phase differences, whereby the light beams having coherence and plural wavelengths can be converted so as to have the polarization state of natural light.

An optical rotating plate has an optical rotating material layer. A phase plate is provided on a first surface side of the optical rotating plate and has at least one birefringent material layer.
