The purpose of the present invention is to provide an external resonator type wavelength-variable semiconductor laser light source adopting a 'sine bar' method, in which the oscillation wavelength of the semiconductor laser can be varied within a wide range under phase-continuous conditions. In the external resonator type wavelength-variable semiconductor laser light source according to the present invention, the semiconductor laser outputs an outgoing beam from one end face coated with an antireflection film. The outgoing beam transmits the first and second prisms to be incident on a diffraction grating fixed on a rotating stage. When the second prism slides on a slope of the first prism, an arm which is connected to the second prism works together, and the diffraction grating rotates. At this time, the optical length of the beam which transmits the second prism changes, while the length of resonator does not change.

External resonator type wavelength-variable semiconductor laser light

The purpose of the present invention is to provide an external resonator type frequency-variable semiconductor laser light source in which the oscillation frequency of the semiconductor laser can be set lip at higher resolution. In the present invention, one end face of a semiconductor laser is coated with an antireflection film. The outgoing beam from the end face is incident on a diffraction grating fixed on a rotating stage. A parallel sliding stage moves the rotating stage in parallel with the optical axis of the semiconductor laser by a parallel sliding mechanism driver. A frequency setting part sets arbitrarily the oscillation frequency of the semiconductor laser. A beam splitter splits an outgoing beam from the other end face of tile semiconductor laser into a transmitted beam and a reflected beam. An optical interferometer inputs the reflected beam and outputs an interference output beam. An optical detector inputs the interference output beam and converts it to an electric interference signal. An interference signal processing unit inputs the interference signal to be counted, and outputs a processing signal being proportional with the counted number of interference fringes. A comparator compares a set signal from the frequency setting part with the processing signal and feeds the result back to the parallel sliding mechanism driver.

External resonator type frequency-variable semiconductor laser light

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a wavelength-variable semiconductor laser light source in which the oscillation wavelength of the semiconductor laser can be set up at higher resolution under phase-continuous conditions. In the present invention, semiconductor laser 1 outputs outgoing light from the end face with an antireflection film. The output light is split into transmitted light and reflected light by a beam splitter which is fixed on a parallel sliding stage. The transmitted light is incident on a diffraction grating fixed on a moving stage which is provided on the parallel sliding stage. The parallel sliding stage moves in parallel with the optical axis of semiconductor laser. A PSD is provided for inputting the expanded light and outputting an electric signal which is proportional to an amount of the displacement of the expanded light. A wavelength setting part arbitrarily sets the oscillation wavelength of the semiconductor laser, and a comparator compares a set signal From the wavelength setting part with the electric signal from the PSD and feeds the result back to the parallel sliding driver which drives the parallel sliding stage.
