Provided are an organic semiconductor material having a high charge mobility, oxidation stability, and solvent solubility, an organic semiconductor device using the same, and a novel aromatic heterocyclic compound to be used for the same and a production method therefor. The aromatic heterocyclic compound is represented by the following general formula (1), has two heteroatoms, and has a structure in which six rings are fused. In the formula, X represents an oxygen atom or N&#x2014;R, and R represents hydrogen or a monovalent substituent. The organic semiconductor material contains the aromatic heterocyclic compound, and is used for an organic semiconductor film or an organic device, such as an organic thin-film transistor or an organic photovoltaic device.

Aromatic heterocyclic compound, manufacturing method thereof, organic semiconductor material, and organic semiconductor device

Provided are a semiconductor material for an organic transistor having a high charge mobility, solvent solubility, oxidation stability, and satisfactory film formability, and an organic thin-film transistor using the semiconductor material. The organic semiconductor material for an organic transistor is a seven-ring-fused heterocyclic compound having benzene rings at both ends, and having, therebetween, rings of a structure in which benzene rings A and pyrrole rings B are fused in the order of A-B-A-B-A. The fused heterocyclic compound may be substituted with an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, or an aromatic group. In addition, the organic thin-film transistor includes a semiconductor layer using the compound.

The organic light-emitting element includes an organic EL element including: a substrate; an anode; a cathode; and a light-emitting layer, the anode and the cathode being laminated on the substrate and the light-emitting layer being sandwiched between the anode and the cathode, in which the light-emitting layer includes: the organic light-emitting material; and as a host material, an organic compound having excited triplet energy higher than that of the organic light-emitting material.

Provided are a nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic compound useful as an organic semiconductor material and an organic electronic device using this compound. The nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocyclic compound has a fused indole skeleton represented by the following formula (1), the organic semiconductor material contains the compound, and the organic electronic device uses the organic semiconductor material. In general formula (1), X is N-A', O, S, or Se; A is an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, or an aromatic heterocyclic group exclusive of a fused heterocycle consisting of 4 rings or more; and R is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, or an aromatic heterocyclic group exclusive of a fused heterocycle consisting of 4 rings or more.

Disclosed is an ionic liquid which is stable over a wide potential range and exhibits a high ionic conductivity. The ionic liquid comprises a cyclic guanidine salt represented by the following formula (1): wherein Rand Reach is independently an alkyl group or an alkoxyalkyl group, X is a methylene group, an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, or RN; Ris an alkyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group, or an acyl group; l, m, and n each is an integer in the range of 1-6; Yis a monovalent anion such as (RSO)N, RSO, RCOO, BF, PF, NO, (CN)N, (CHO)N, NCS, ROSO, RSOS, and a halogen ion. The ionic liquid is useful for a variety of electrolytes, particularly for electrolytes of electrochemical cells.

Cyclic guanidine ionic liquid

Provided is a proton-conducting compound which provides proton conductivity without humidification and is suitable for electrochemical device materials such as solid electrolytes for fuel cells and electrolytes for batteries. Provided also is a proton-conducting polymer. The proton-conducting compound is composed of a melamine compound salt obtained from a melamine compound represented by the following formula (1) and a Bronsted acid and the proton-conducting polymer is obtained by homopolymerizing or copolymerizing the melamine compound salt. In formula (1), R, R, R, R, and Reach is independently an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group, a heterocyclic group, or a hydrogen atom; at least one of them is a group other than hydrogen; Rand Ror Rand Rmay join together to form a heterocyclic structure; and the alkyl group, the aryl group, the alkenyl group, or the heterocyclic group may have a substituent. A melamine compound salt wherein Ris CH&#x2550;CR&#x2014;CO&#x2014;O(CH)&#x2014; polymerizes to yield a proton-conducting polymer. In this particular Rgroup, Ris hydrogen or an alkyl group and n is an integer equal to or larger than 1.

The process of this invention for preparing 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylic acid comprises a reaction step (Step A) wherein 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylic acid potassium salts consisting of 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylic acid dipotassium salt and/or 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylic acid monopotassium salt are allowed to react with benzene-carboxylic acids in the presence of water to yield 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylic acid and benzene-carboxylic acid potassium salts and a separation step (Step B) wherein the crystallized 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylic acid is separated from the benzene-carboxylic acid potassium salts dissolved in the aqueous solution and provides 2,6-naphthalene-dicarboxylic acid, useful as raw material for polymers, at low cost on a commerical scale with recycle of potassium.
