A paper feeding device for a paper cassette of an image processing apparatus. The paper cassette is mounted at a specific position or the image processing apparatus in a manner permitting the cassette to be pulled out. A preliminary feed roller feeds the paper on the paper cassette toward a feed roller which is normally energized in a paper pressing direction. When the paper cassette is mounted in the image processing apparatus, the document setting board disposed in the paper cassette is upwardly turned by a pressing mechanism. When the paper cassette is pulled out, the feed roller from the paper cassette is turned in reverse direction. A feed channel to guide the paper from the paper cassette is formed in a curved manner, and a normally turned delivery roller is provided inside the curved channel.

Paper feeding device

A corona discharge device including a shield case having a bottom wall and a pair of walls extending from both side ends of the bottom wall and a wire stretched within the shield case. A guide member for preventing entry of a sheet material into the shield case has a guide arm portion extending across an opening of the shield case, and the free end portion of the guide arm portion is kept in elastic press contact with the wall of the shield case. Furthermore, the guide member for preventing entry of the sheet material into the shield case has one end portion fixed to one wall of the shield case and its other end portion detachably anchored selectively at one wall and the other wall of the shield case.

Corona discharge device

A cleaning device in an image-forming machine. A supporting frame structure includes a toner recovery box receiving space and a toner recovery box to be inserted into the receiving space. A toner inlet extending in the front-rear direction is formed in the toner recovery box. The cleaning device further includes a cover for recovering or closing the toner inlet at the time of withdrawing the toner recovery box from the receiving space, thereby preventing scattering of toner from the toner inlet.

Sealable toner recovery box for an image forming machine

A sheet feeding mechanism includes a receiving member, a feed member for feeding sheets from a stack thereof on the receiving member, and an overlapping feed preventing device including a roller to be rotated in a predetermined direction and a friction member cooperating with the roller. In relation to the friction member, a device is provided for substantially preventing the leading end of a fed sheet from contacting that part of the friction member which is upstream, in the sheet feeding direction, of the nipping site between the friction member and the roller.

Sheet feeding mechanism

A paper feeding device having a document tray attached to a specified position of an image processing apparatus, a paper cassette mounted onto a specific position in the image processing apparatus in a manner that can be pulled out, and a preliminary feed roller to carry the paper set on the document tray toward a feed roller which is normally energized in paper pressing direction. When a sheet of paper is inserted, the preliminary feed roller is moved in the opposite direction against the energizing force under a balanced condition in transversal direction by a guide member which is turned upward. When the paper cassette is mounted in the image processing apparatus, the document setting board disposed in the paper cassette is upwardly turned by a pressing mechanism. When the paper cassette is pulled out, the feed roller to feed out paper from the paper cassette is turned in reversed direction. A feed channel to guide the paper from the paper cassette is formed in a curved manner, and a normally turned delivery roller is provided inside the curved channel.

A copying machine, including a photosensitive drum; a corona charger; an exposure device for exposing the photosensitive drum to an optical image of an original; a developing unit for developing a toner image on the photosensitive drum; a transfer corona charger for transferring the developed toner image to copy paper; a device for mechanically separating the imaged copy paper from the photosensitive drum; and a system for cleaning the drum after the image transfer, which includes an eraser lamp disposed adjacent the copy paper delivery side of the transfer corona charger at a position for illuminating copy paper from the rear side thereof upon image transfer thereto, and a control unit for controlling the operation of the transfer corona charger and the eraser lamp, thereby assuring smooth separation of copy paper after image transfer and efficient transport of the paper.

Eraser lamp and transparent guide plate in electrostatic image transfer

An electrostatic photographic copying machine provided with a sorter includes structure for mechanically connecting the sorter to a body of the electrostatic photographic copying machine so that the sorter can be moved between a first position adjacent the body and a second position spaced from the body in the direction of discharge of paper sheets with an interval therebetween. Thereby, copying paper sheets can be easily and rapidly removed from the sorter and a fixing apparatus of the machine if they become stopped up or jammed therein.

Electrostatic photographic copying machine provided with a movable sorter

A shell-type electrostatic copying apparatus comprising a supporting structure comprised of a lower supporting frame and an upper supporting frame pivotally mounted on the lower supporting frame, a rotating drum rotatably mounted on the supporting structure, a copying paper feed device and a copying paper conveying mechanism including a plurality of lower elements and a plurality of upper elements for conducting a copying paper delivered from the paper feed device to the rotating drum. A conveying unit frame is pivotably mounted on the supporting structure. At least one of the upper elements is mounted on the conveying unit frame, and at least one of the lower elements, on the lower supporting frame. The apparatus also includes a drum unit frame having the rotating drum rotatably mounted thereon. A provisional unit placing means for supporting the drum unit frame movably is provided in the lower supporting frame and/or the conveying unit frame. The drum unit including the drum unit frame is provisionally placed on the provisional unit placing means, and then in the required manner, mounted detachably on the upper supporting frame.

Shell-type electrostatic copying apparatus

A variable magnification electrostatic copying apparatus includes a stationary transparent plate for placing thereon a document to be copied, an optical system including a first reflecting mirror assembly adapted to be moved reciprocally along the transparent plate, a second reflecting mirror assembly adapted to be moved reciprocally at a speed equal to one-half of the moving speed of the first reflecting mirror assembly and a lens assembly to be held at any one of a plurality of positions corresponding to a plurality of projecting ratios, and a projecting ratio changing device for moving the lens assembly and the second reflecting mirror assembly so as to change the projecting ratio of the optical system. The projecting ratio changing device includes a drive source in the form of a stepping motor, a control for controlling the operation of the drive source, a setting member for moving the second reflecting mirror assembly, a first power transmission system interposed between the drive source and the setting member and a second power transmission system interposed between the drive source and the lens assembly. The second reflecting mirror assembly is moved through the first power transmission system and the setting member, and the lens assembly is moved through the second power transmission system. An exposure correcting device includes plural plates movable between non-operating positions to respective operating positions controlling the area of exposure. The control includes high and low speed rotating plates and optical detectors for detecting positions thereof and for controlling the stepping motor.

Variable magnification electrostatic copying apparatus

A toner replenishing device for replenishing toner to a developing device in an electrostatic copying apparatus includes a storing box extending in approximately a horizontal direction, a supply roller provided at a supply port at an end of the storing box, pairs of wheels respectively provided at opposite ends of the storing box, a pair of endless stretched members passed around the wheels, a stirring and supply rod provided between the endless stretched members, and a device for driving the wheels so as to move the lower portion of the endless stretched members toward the supply roller.

Toner replenishing device for an electrostatic copying apparatus

A photosensitive drum assembly for an electrostatic copying apparatus includes a cylindrical drum having a photosensitive layer provided around its outer periphery. The drum is held between a pair of flanges at opposite axial ends of the drum. Each of the flanges is formed having a diameter larger than the external diameter of the drum. At the edge of each flange, is a cylindrical portion extending along the axis of the drum to face toward the opposite flange. The end edges of the drum closely fit into the cylindrical portions. According to the present invention, since the edges of the drum closely fit into the cylindrical portions of the flanges, it is not necessary to improve the dimensional accuracy of the inside periphery of the opposite ends of the drum, while it is essential to improve the dimensional accuracy in a conventional manner.
