In a method for manufacturing a ferritic stainless steel product, a ferritic stainless steel object is heated in an inert gas atmosphere including nitrogen gas in a heating furnace at a nitriding temperature higher than or equal to a transformation temperature so as to form a nitrided layer on a surface of the ferritic stainless steel object. Moreover, the nitriding temperature is set lower than 1100&#xb0; C. during the heating. The heating of the ferritic stainless steel object is performed in a state where a solid carbon exists inside the heating furnace.

Method for manufacturing ferritic stainless steel product

An electromagnetic actuator has a movable core, a housing that holds the movable core so that the core may freely reciprocate, and an attractive part that applies a magnetic force to pull the movable core in one of the reciprocating directions. The electromagnetic actuator further has a stator that constitutes a magnetic circuit along with the movable core. At least one of the sliding faces of the housing and the movable core in contact with each other is subjected to gas soft nitriding, salt-bath soft nitriding, sulfo-nitriding, or nitriding treatment. The surface roughness of such a nitrided face is controlled to be within a prescribed range, so that the wear of the sliding faces of the movable core and the housing can be reduced.

A pressure detecting apparatus for detecting vehicle tire air pressure. In a cylindrical housing mounted axially in parallel with a tire wheel, a setting magnet, a rotor magnet and a reversing magnet are coaxially provided and the rotor magnet is supported by a shaft rotatably and axially movably in response to a tire air pressure introduced to a bellows in the housing. When the air pressure is normal, the rotor magnet is attracted by the setting magnet. When the air pressure is reduced, the rotor magnet is separated by the movement of bellows, rotated by the repulsion force of the reversing magnet and finally attracted to said reversing magnet. By this operation, position of the magnetic poles of the rotor magnet is reversed and this reversion is detected electrically by a magnetism detecting unit.
