The present invention provides an exhaust purification filter with which pressure loss can be reduced, the filter having high exhaust purification performance and granular-substance-filtering performance. The exhaust purification filter comprises a filter base material having a wall flow structure, and an exhaust purification catalyst supported on a dividing wall of the filter base material, the exhaust purification filter being such that: a median pore diameter (D50) of the filter base material according to a volumetric basis is 15 μm or greater; and the exhaust purification catalyst is unevenly supported on a high-density layer, in which the density of the exhaust purification catalyst is relatively high, and a low-density layer, in which the density of the exhaust purification catalyst is relatively low.

Exhaust purification filter

Provided is an exhaust purification filter that is able to reduce pressure loss and that has high exhaust purification performance and particulate matter trapping performance. This exhaust purification filter comprises a filter substrate having a wall flow structure, and an exhaust purification catalyst supported on a partition wall of the filter substrate. The volume-based median pore diameter (D50) of the filter substrate is 18 μm or greater, the full width at half maximum of the pore distribution of the filter substrate is 7 μm to 15 μm, and the exhaust purification catalyst is supported in an unevenly distributed manner in a high-density layer in which the density of the exhaust purification catalyst is relatively high and a low-density layer in which the density of the exhaust purification catalyst is relatively low.

This invention provides an exhaust gas purification catalyst, which can burn PM (particulate matter) at a temperature below the temperature required in the prior art technique and can realize a high PM combustion rate at elevated temperatures, and an exhaust gas purification apparatus using the exhaust gas purification catalyst. The exhaust gas purification catalyst comprises a composite oxide having oxygen release properties and Ag and a noble metal co-supported on the composite oxide. The exhaust gas purification catalyst and an exhaust gas purification apparatus () using the exhaust gas purification catalyst can increase the PM combustion rate at elevated temperatures and, at the same time, can burn PM at a temperature below the temperature required in the prior art technique. Further, fuel consumption loss caused by forced regeneration, EM deterioration, and catalyst deterioration can be suppressed, and, thus, the load on automobiles can be reduced.

Exhaust gas purification catalyst and exhaust gas purification apparatus using the exhaust gas purification catalyst

An exhaust gas purifying apparatus is provided for efficiently purifying particulate matter discharged from an internal combustion engine at a lower exhaust gas temperature by adequately disposing of the absorbent material for absorbing hydrocarbon, the combustion catalyst for hydrocarbon, and the combustion catalyst for particulate matter. The exhaust gas purifying apparatus disposed in an exhaust gas path of the internal combustion engine for purifying particulate matter in exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine, includes a particulate filter, wherein the particulate filter has a porous wall; a first layer formed on a surface of the porous wall, including an absorbent material for absorbing hydrocarbon contained in exhaust gas; and a second layer formed on a surface of the first layer, containing a combustion catalyst for the particulate matter and a combustion catalyst for the hydrocarbon.

Exhaust gas purifying apparatus

A catalyst for exhaust gas purification is provided that can not only efficiently and simultaneously purify nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide in exhaust gas emitted from internal combustion engines such as those of automobiles even at lower temperatures, but also exhibits higher durability. The coexistence of a complex oxide that includes a rare earth element and palladium, a rare earth oxide, and a perovskite-type complex oxide that is expressed by the general formula LnAlO, in which Ln is a rare earth element, may provide a catalyst that not only efficiently purifies the exhaust gas emitted from internal combustion engines such as those of automobiles even at lower temperatures, but also exhibits higher durability.

Catalyst for exhaust gas purification and exhaust gas purification apparatus

An exhaust gas purifying catalyst which exhibits sufficient efficiency during low temperature operation (below 400&#xb0; C.) such as starting of a vehicle or idling operation can be provided by improving activation of a noble metal itself and preventing reduction of activation at high temperatures. In the catalyst, Pd is supported on a complex oxide having the ratio formula of LnXAlZO(Ln: rare earth element, X: alkali earth metal, Z: 2 to 5 group or 12 to 14 group element, 0.02&#x2266;a&#x2266;0.30, 0.02&#x2266;b&#x2266;0.30).

Exhaust gas purifying catalyst and exhaust gas purifying device therewith for vehicle

A purification catalyst for exhaust gas which exhibits satisfactory performance even at a low temperature operation of starting or idling of engine (not more than 400&#xb0; C.), and a production method therefore are provided. The catalyst comprises an aluminum oxide supporting Pd, and the aluminum oxide is LnAlO(Ln: rare-earth metal).
