To provide an adhesive excellent in heat resistance and adhesive property. An adhesive comprising a fluorinated polymer having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of from 6&#xd7;10to 3&#xd7;10and having iodine atoms at both terminals, and a radical generator. The fluorinated polymer has structural units derived from at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of tetrafluoroethylene, vinylidene fluoride, hexafluoropropylene and a perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether).

Adhesive

The claimed invention relates to a method for producing a melt-moldable tetrafluoroethylene copolymer containing repeating units (a) based on tetrafluoroethylene and repeating units (b) based on another fluoromonomer, wherein the amount of the repeating units (a), based on the total mass of the repeating units (a) and the repeating units (b), is from 97.3 to 99.5 mass %, and the volume flow rate of the copolymer is from 0.1 to 1000 mm/s; the process including radical suspension-polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene and the fluoromonomer in an aqueous medium in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator and at least one chain transfer agent selected from the group consisting of methane, ethane, a hydrochlorocarbon, a hydrofluorocarbon and a hydrochlorofluorocarbon.

Method for producing melt-moldable tetrafluoroethylene copolymer

The present invention provides an ETFE-type copolymer having a high melt tension and excellent blow moldability. An ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer which comprises ethylene units, tetrafluoroethylene units and units of a monomer (A) having at least two copolymerizable double bonds and which has a ratio (X/W) of its melt tension (XmN) to a load (Wkg) applied for the measurement of the melt tension being at least 0.8.

To provide a method for producing a melt-processable fluororesin, which is capable of increasing the molecular weight of the fluororesin and preventing coloration of the fluororesin, by using a specific fluorinated emulsifier other than ammonium perfluorooctanoate. A method for producing a melt-processable fluororesin which is characterized in that a fluorinated monomer is emulsion-polymerized in an aqueous medium containing a fluorinated emulsifier of a formula (I) XCFCF(O)CFCFOCFCOOA wherein X is a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom, A is a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal or NH, and m is an integer of 0 or 1.

A laminate for a printed wiring board having a laminate structure comprising an electrical insulator layer (A) and an electrical conductor layer (B) bonded directly to each other, wherein the electrical insulator layer (A) is formed of a fluorocopolymer comprising repeating units (a) based on tetrafluoroethylene and/or chlorotrifluoroethylene, repeating units (b) based on a fluoromonomer excluding tetrafluoroethylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene, and repeating units (c) based on a monomer having an acid anhydride residue and a polymerizable unsaturated bond in amounts of (a) being from 50 to 99.89 mol %, (b) being from 0.1 to 49.99 mol % and (c) being from 0.01 to 5 mol %, based on ((a)+(b)+(c)), and the electrical conductor layer (B) has a surface roughness of at most 10 &#x3bc;m on the side being in contact with the electrical insulator layer (A). The laminate for a printed wiring board is excellent in signal response in a high frequency region.

A laminate hose comprising a laminate of a fluorocopolymer and a polyamide, wherein the fluorocopolymer comprises repeating units (a) based on tetrafluoroethylene and/or chlorotrifluoroethylene, repeating units (b) based on a cyclic hydrocarbon monomer having a dicarboxylic anhydride group and having a polymerizable unsaturated group in the ring, and repeating units (c) based on another fluoromonomer (excluding tetrfluoroethylene and chlorofluoroethylene) with contents of the repeating units (a) of from 50 to 99.89 mol %, the repeating units (b) of from 0.01 to 5 mol % and the repeating units (c) of from 0.1 to 49.99 mol % based on the total number of mols of the repeating units (a), (b) and (c), and has a flow coefficient of from 0.1 to 1,000 mm/sec.

A laminate for a flexible printed wiring board having a three-layer laminated structure where a reinforcing layer (A), an electrical insulator layer (B) and an electrical conductor layer (C) are laminated in this order, wherein the electrical insulator layer (B) is made of a fluorocopolymer comprising repeating units (a) based on tetrafluoroethylene and/or chlorotrifluoroethylene, repeating units (b) based on a fluoromonomer excluding tetrafluoroethylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene, and repeating units (c) based on a monomer having an acid anhydride residue and the electrical conductor layer (C) has a surface roughness of at most 10 &#x3bc;m on the side being in contact with the electrical insulator layer (B). Multilayer laminate of fluororesin

A fluorocopolymer and film thereof exhibiting excellent transparency and mechanical strength at ambient and elevated temperatures, wherein the fluorocopolymer includes polymerized units based on ethylene (E), tetrafluoroethylene (TFE), hexafluoropropylene (HFP) and perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ether) (PFAV), wherein the molar ratio of polymerized units based on E/TFE is from 10/90 to 60/40, the content of polymerized units based on HFP is from 0.2 to 0.9 mol % based on the total number of polymerized units, and the content of polymerized units based on PFAV is from 0.1 to 1.0 mol % based on the total number of polymerized units.

Fluoropolymer and film made of it

A fluorocopolymer which comprises (A) polymerized units based on tetrafluoroethylene, (B) polymerized units based on ethylene and (C) polymerized units based on itaconic anhydride or citraconic anhydride, wherein the molar ratio of (A)/(B) is from 20/80 to 80/20, and the molar ratio of (C)/((A)+(B)) is from 1/10000 to 5/100, and which has a volume flow rate of from 1 to 1000 mm/sec. The fluorocopolymer is excellent in the fuel barrier properties and in the adhesive properties to a non-fluorinated polymer.

Fluorocopolymer

A fluorocopolymer which comprises (a) polymerized units based on tetrafluoroethylene and/or chlorotrifluoroethylene, (b) polymerized units based on a fluorinated monomer (excluding tetrafluoroethylene and chlorotrifluoroethylene) and (c) polymerized units based on at least one member selected from the group consisting of itaconic acid, itaconic anhydride, citraconic acid and citraconic anhydride, wherein (a) is from 50 to 99.8 mol %, (b) is from 0.1 to 49.99 mol %, and (c) is from 0.01 to 5 mol %, based on ((a)+(b)+(c)), and which has a volume flow rate of from 0.1 to 1000 mm/sec.

A fluorocopolymer which comprises repeating units (a) based on tetrafluoroethylene and/or chlorotrifluoroethylene, repeating units (b) based on a cyclic hydrocarbon monomer having a dicarboxylic anhydride group and an endocyclic polymerizable unsaturated group, and repeating units (c) based on other monomer, wherein the repeating units (a) are from 50 to 99.89 mol %, the repeating units (b) are from 0.01 to 5 mol % and the repeating units (c) are from 0.1 to 49.99 mol %, based on the total molar amount of the repeating units (a), (b) and (c), and which has a volume flow rate of from 0.1 to 1,000 mm/sec., and a laminate and coated product thereof. The fluorocopolymer is excellent in adhesion, heat resistance, weather resistance, stress cracking resistance and fuel barrier properties. The laminate is excellent in interlaminar bonding and fuel barrier properties. The coated product is excellent in heat resistance, chemical resistance, corrosion resistance, oil resistance, weather resistance, abrasion resistance and lubricating properties.

Fluorocopolymer and its applications

A tetrafluoroethylene/ethylene copolymer composition comprising a tetrafluoroethylene/ethylene copolymer (A) and a thermoplastic fluoropolymer (B) having a crystallization temperature higher than the crystallization temperature of said tetrafluoroethylene/ethylene copolymer (A) in a mass ratio of (A)/(B)=from 99.8/0.2 to 1/99. The composition is excellent in melt processability, and its formed product is excellent in mechanical properties and fuel barrier properties.
