A seat core material having reduced deformation, extremely excellent dimensional accuracy, sense of unity, and strength is thus provided. The frame member and the foamed particle molding are integrated in the seat core material.

Seat core material

A seat core material of the present invention is a seat core material for vehicle including a thermoplastic resin expanded bead article and a frame member embedded in a peripheral edge portion of the expanded bead article. The frame member includes a front frame part, a rear frame part, and two side frame parts interconnecting the front frame part and the rear frame part. Slits crossing the two side frame parts are formed along a longitudinal direction with continuous parts left intact outside the side frame parts on both ends of the expanded bead article. The slit penetrates or does not penetrate the expanded bead article in a thickness direction. The continuous parts are formed in a curved shape or a bent shape.

A method for producing a seat core material that has a foamed molded substrate and a frame member embedded in a periphery thereof, which includes, as step (a), heating thermoplastic resin expanded beads in a mold cavity, in which the frame member has been disposed, to fusion-bond the expanded beads to each other and to obtain the foamed molded substrate with the frame member being embedded in the periphery thereof; and, as step (b), simultaneously with step (a) or after step (a), forming a void cavity S, S' in the foamed molded substrate at a position along and adjacent to the frame member. The void cavity S, S&#x2032; has a size and shape that allows a relative displacement between the frame member and the foamed molded substrate when the foamed molded substrate shrinks after step (b).

Method for producing seat core material, and seat core material

Provided is a core material of a seat cushion for a vehicle, including: a thermoplastic resin expanded beads molded article having a substantially rectangular shape in top view, that has thick portions on a front side and both sides of a circumferential portion thereof, and that has an occupant seating portion on an upper surface in an inner region thereof; and an annular frame member that is insert-molded at the circumferential portion of the thermoplastic resin expanded beads molded article. In the thermoplastic resin expanded beads molded article, formed are first slits having: slit pieces that extend along a front frame member at a position in front of the occupant sitting part and inside from the front frame part; and slit pieces that extend along a side frame member at a position outside from the occupant sitting part and inside from a side frame part.

Vehicle seat cushion core

A seat core material of the present invention is a seat core material for vehicle including: a thermoplastic resin expanded bead article; and a frame member embedded in a peripheral edge portion of the expanded bead article. The expanded bead article has two or more lightening parts in an area from a center portion as seen in a front-back direction to a rear side. A through or non-through slit is provided in a continuous part between the lightening parts or an area in front of the continuous part over a distance of 100 mm or less along a vehicle-width direction of the expanded bead article. The slit is closed at both longitudinal ends.

There is provided a vehicle seat core member that is superior in terms of a dimensional accuracy as well as integrity of a thermoplastic resin expanded beads molded body and a frame member. A vehicle seat core member () is formed as an integrally molded article of a thermoplastic resin expanded beads molded body () and a frame member (), the thermoplastic resin expanded beads molded body () is formed of thermoplastic resin expanded beads () having through holes (), and a porosity of the thermoplastic resin expanded beads molded body () is 10 vol % or more and 40 vol % or less.

Vehicle seat core member

A composite seat core material is configured from: a base portion that is formed by fusing thermoplastic resin foamed particles having no through-hole to each other; and a connecting portion that is provided on the upper side of the base portion, and is formed by fusing foamed particles having through-holes to each other, the connecting portion having interconnected void spaces that communicates with the outside. With the outer surface of the connection portion partially exposed at the top surface of the composite seat core material, the base portion and the connecting portion are fixed and integrated with each other. A seat member is formed by laminating a polyurethane foam pad on the top surface of the composite seat core material.

A method for manufacturing including securing attachments disposed near both ends in the seat core member front portion made of a molded article of expanded beads, the securing attachments being connected by an embedded connecting member extending in the seat core member longitudinal direction. The securing attachment includes a base embedded in the molded article of expanded beads, an upright frame joined to the base to extend out of the molded article of expanded beads, and a securing portion extending from the upright frame to project away from the molded article of expanded beads. The method includes creating, during or after molding the molded article of expanded beads, a space or notch in an outer side of the securing attachment upright frame of the molded article of expanded beads in the seat core member longitudinal direction, the notch extending toward an outer side in the seat core member longitudinal direction.
