Provided is an imaging device capable of accurately and rapidly selecting a main image from a plurality of continuously captured images and simplifying handling of image files recorded on a memory card. With one operation, it is possible to capture a plurality of continuous images at a predetermined time interval. A main image is selected from the captured images and the image data on the main image and the image data on sub images other than the main image are recorded as one image file on a recording medium ().

Imaging device

An imaging device capable of detecting and correcting, with high accuracy, the motion (image rotation) in the rolling direction of the image caused by the camera shake during imaging without being influenced by the individual variation, temperature characteristic, and variation with time of the sensor. To correct the motion (image rotation) in the rolling direction of the image caused by the camera shake during imaging, the result of detection of the angle of inclination of the device by an angle sensor () is corrected with the result of detection of the angle of inclination of the image on the basis of the feature of the captured image by an image inclination detecting section (), and the imaging device () is rotated around the optical axis or an axis parallel to the optical axis according to the corrected angle of inclination of the device.

In the case where rate information is not transmitted on an input bit stream, it was difficult to efficiently record the input bit stream in accordance with the rate of the input bit stream. Therefore, a data recording apparatus is realized which comprises: signal processing means of coding the input bit stream to a recording signal; a packet counter section that counts the number of packets serving as constituting units of the input bit stream, for a fixed time period; a system controller that controls a recording rate on a tape-like recording medium; and recording means of recording the recording signal on the tape-like recording medium, and which is configured so as to calculate the rate of the input bit stream from an output of the packet counter section to control the recording rate, whereby recording can be efficiently conducted in accordance with the rate of an input signal.

A data stream is recorded and reproduced and a recording medium for the same are adapted to record in a control track an identification mark for identifying a specific track within a unit of plural tracks by superposing the identification mark upon a control pulse. A magnetic head travels along a predetermined path in the unit of plural tracks during a high-speed playback operation by phase-locking a rotational phase signal of a cylinder with a divided signal of the control pulse having a specific phase according to the reproduced identification mark.

Data stream recording/reproducing apparatus, recording/reproducing method, and recording medium

A digital signal recording and reproducing apparatus has the following components: a digital information decoding circuit for outputting (a) a received digital information signal by selecting a channel, and (b) a first analog signal by selecting and decoding either one of a selected digital information signal, and a reproduced digital information signal of a recording medium; a recording and reproducing unit for outputting a reproduced digital signal, comprising (a) a digital signal recording unit for inputting the digital information signal of the channel selected and output by the digital information decoding circuit, and for recording on the recording medium, (b) a digital signal reproduction unit for reproducing the digital signal recorded on the recording medium, and (c) a first recording and reproduction unit for recording and reproducing an externally input analog video/audio signal on the recording medium as a second analog signal; a bus line for transmitting (a) the digital information signal of the channel selected and output by the digital information decoding circuit to the recording and reproducing unit, and (b) a digital information signal output by the recording and reproducing unit to the digital information decoding circuit; and an analog information selecting circuit for selecting and outputting either one of (a) the first analog signal decoded by the digital information decoding circuit, and (b) the second analog signal reproduced by the recording and reproducing unit.

Digital signal recording/reproducing apparatus

A reproduced signal from a recording medium 1 is equalized at partial response (1, 0, -1) by a reproducing equalizer 3, and is converted into a reproduced and equalized signal. A clock reproducing circuit 4 issues a reproduced clock synchronized with the timing of data identification, and applies it to a phase adjusting circuit 5. A phase control signal generating circuit 6A detects a specific pattern from a reproduced digital signal issued from an A/D converter 7, and the advance or delay amount of phase of the reproduced clock is detected by the amplitude or distribution of the sampling value. This phase deviation amount is given to the phase adjusting circuit 5 as a phase control signal. The phase adjusting circuit 5 given a delayed clock to the A/D converter 7, and controls to A/D convert the reproduced signal at correct timing.

Data decoding apparatus

A recording and reproducing apparatus for an input encoded data stream having two different bit rates N.sub.1 and N.sub.2, where N.sub.1 &lt;N.sub.2. The recording and reproducing apparatus includes: an input interface for outputting the input encoded data stream to two channels; recording processors, connected to the outputs of the input interface, for converting the input encoded data stream into a signal suitable for writing onto a magnetic tape by a recording head; a tape speed controller for varying the speed of the magnetic tape in accordance with the bit rates of the input encoded data stream; a reproducing head for reading the signal from the magnetic tape; reproducing processors for processing a reproduced signal; and an output interface. The output interface integrates and outputs the input signals from the two channels when the bit rate of the reproduced encoded data stream is N.sub.2, while the output interface outputs the input signal from only one of the two channels when the bit rate of the reproduced encoded data stream is N.sub.1.

In a video signal recording/reproducing apparatus for emphasizing an input video signal, recording by adding an additional signal necessary for recording, and de-emphasizing when reproducing, the emphasis processing is stopped on the time axis in a period in which the additional signal is to be added. Besides, by adding an additional signal before emphasis processing, the waveform deterioration in the end portion of the effective period occurring due to the addition of additional signal after emphasis processing is decreased, and a favorable waveform reproduction is realized over the entire period of the effective portions.

Also, while the transmission circuit is arranged to have a zero-phase characteristic, each segment of a continuous signal is processed throughout a period which is equal to at least two times a duration of an impulse response direction of the transmission circuit. Signal processing apparatus for changing the frequency characteristics

Two-channel signals contain information of a video signal in a video system where one frame is composed of an odd number of lines. A first switching device periodically and mutually switches the two-channel signals at periods of nH and thereby generates two converted signals which correspond periodically and alternately to the two-channel signals at periods of nH. The character 'nH' denotes a vlaue which equals a preset integer 'n' times a horizontal sync period 'H'. The first switching device is reset for each of a plurality of fields. The two converted signals are transmitted through a transmission system. A second switching device periodically and mutually switches the two converted signals, which are transmitted through the transmission system, at periods of nH and thereby reobtains two-channel signals from the two converted signals. The second switching device is reset for each of the fields.

An apparatus for converting a wide screen television signal to a desired normal screen television signal includes an extraction circuit for selectively extracting a portion of the wide screen television signal corresponding to a normal screen television picture to obtain the desired normal television signal, a motion detector for detecting a motion of a picture produced by the wide screen television signal, and a control circuit for controlling the extracting circuit to extract the portion of the wide screen television signal according to a motion detection result of the motion detector. A plurality of candidate areas to be extracted from the wide screen television picture are predetermined. The motion detector detects from among the plurality areas an area in which the motion of the picture is the largest. The control circuit controls the extracting circuit to extract a portion of the wide screen television signal corresponding to the area in which the motion of the picture is the largest.

In a video signal recording/reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing two-channel component signals, input two-channel component signals are processed separately from each other by two recording signal processing circuits to be recordable two-channel component signals. The recordable two-channel component signals are exchanged at predetermined intervals by a first switching circuit to be two combined signal each containing the recordable two-channel component signals which appear at periods corresponding to the exchanging invervals. The two combined signals are recorded on a recording medium via recording heads and reproduced from the recording medium via reproducing heads. The reproduced two combined signals are exchanged at the predetermined intervals by a second switching circuit to be the recordable two-channel component signals, which are thereafter processed separately from each other by two reproduced signal processing circuit to be the original two-channel component signals.

Video signal recording/reproducing apparatus

A PLL circuit for a phase comparator, a low-pass filter (LPF), a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) and a frequency divider. A first control circuit is responsive to a discontinuous phase change of a reference signal of the PLL circuit for inhibiting the operation of the phase comparator or disconnecting the LPF from the phase comparator during a predetermined period so that the discontinuous phase change information is not transmitted through the LPF to the VCO. At the same time, a second control circuit resets the frequency divider by a pulse of the reference signal after the discontinuous phase change or applies a voltage corresponding to the discontinuous phase change to the VCO so that the output signal of the frequency divider is locked in phase to the reference signal after the discontinuous phase change. With the cooperation of the first and second control circuits, the PLL circuit quickly recovers its stable state after the discontinuous phase change of the reference signal.

A video signal recording/reproducing apparatus has, in a recording signal processing section, a first switching circuit for exchanging 2-channel component signals at intervals of nH (n: any integer, H: horizontal scanning period) to obtain two combined signals each containing the 2-channel component signals which appear alternately at periods of nH, and a first delay circuit for delaying one of the two combined signals by nH so that the same kind of signals appear at same timings in the two combined signals. The two combined signals one of which is delayed by nH will not be interfered with each other by crosstalks therebetween which will occur in the subsequent circuits including recording and reproducing heads. A reproduced signal processing section has a second delay circuit for delaying by nH a reproduced combined signal which corresponds to the combined signal which has not been delayed in the recording signal processing section so as to recover the original timing relation between reproduced two combined signals, and a second switching circuit for exchanging the reproduced two combined signals one of which is delayed by nH by the second delay circuit at intervals of nH to obtain the original 2-channel component signals.

A video tape recorder which records video signals on a magnetic tape in such a manner that a first signal having luminance information and a second signal having chrominance information are recorded alternately on each track and the first signal recorded on each track is adjacent to the first signal recorded on an adjacent track and the second signal recorded on each track is adjacent to the second signal recorded on the adjacent track. The first signal and the second signal are exchanged every predetermined period L to obtain two combined signals each composed of the first and second signals which occur alternately at intervals of the predetermined period L.
