The flexible printed circuit board includes a base material with a connection terminal and a signal wiring formed thereon, a first cover layer disposed on a first side of the base material, and a second cover layer disposed on a second side different from the first side. The display panel is connected to the connection terminal. The first cover layer is spaced from an end portion of the display panel by a gap of a predetermined size thereby leaving at least one of the connection terminal and the signal wiring exposed. The second cover layer overlaps with the gap in a planar view. A second end portion of the second cover layer is disposed on an opposite side the display panel. A shape of the second end portion is formed to be wavy or concavo-convex including crests and troughs.

Display device

A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel, and a backlight of an edge light system. The backlight includes a light source, and a light guide plate that has a light emitting surface for emitting a light input from the light source into a planar shape, and is placed on the liquid crystal display panel. The light source is located to face an end surface of the light guide plate on a side of the liquid crystal display panel so as not to overlap with the liquid crystal display panel.

A display device which narrows a width of a frame thereof is provided. A display device includes a first substrate on which a plurality of switching elements is formed, a second substrate which is arranged to face the first substrate in an opposed manner, and a frame which is mounted on an outer peripheral portion of the first substrate by way of an adhesive layer. The adhesive layer and the frame each have an opening at a position corresponding to the plurality of switching elements formed on the first substrate, and an inner peripheral surface of the opening of the frame and an inner peripheral surface of the opening of the adhesive layer are made coplanar with each other.

There is provided an image display device including a panel of good work efficiency which can prevent the destruction of its conductive coat due to discharge and can highly efficiently reduce the leakage of unwanted radiation electric fields. The image display device includes a panel grounding electrode which connects a conductive coat and a grounding member together, and the panel grounding electrode uses a conductive adhesive material having in the whole of an adhesive layer, and an insulative protective tape.

A color cathode ray tube includes a magnetic shield housed in a funnel portion thereof and a deflection device mounted in a vicinity of a transition region between a plurality of electron beams on a phosphor screen. The magnetic shield is configured so as to satisfy the inequality Dcor<Dave, where Dave&equals;(Dverm&plus;Dhorm&plus;Dcor)/3. Magnetic shield-core distances are measured in a section plane containing a longitudinal axis of the cathode ray tube and inclined at a section plane angle &thgr; with respect to a horizontal scanning direction of the plurality of electron beams. Dverm and Dhorm are magnetic shield-core distances measured at section plane angles 0&deg; and 90&deg;, respectively, and Dcor is a magnetic shield-core distance measured in a section plane intersecting a corner of a generally rectangular end of the magnetic shield facing toward an electron gun.

Color cathode ray tube having an improved internal magnetic shield

A color cathode ray tube includes a magnetic shield of generally truncated pyramidal shape housed in its funnel portion and an electron beam deflection device. The magnetic shield is configured such that a magnetic shield-core distance between an end of a magnetic core of the deflection device facing toward the phosphor screen and an end of the magnetic shield facing toward the electron gun is approximately constant for section plane angles &thgr; in a range of 0&deg; to 360&deg;, the magnetic shield-core distance being measured in a section plane containing a longitudinal axis of the cathode ray tube and being inclined at the section plane angle &thgr; with respect to a horizontal scanning direction of the electron beams.
