A fuel feeding apparatus includes a pressure increasing piston system, in addition to a high pressure fuel pump, for further increasing the fuel pressure at the outlet of the high pressure fuel pump. For this purpose, a first piston provided in a first cylinder is moved in response to the pressure of fuel drawn up from a fuel tank and fed to the high pressure pump by a low pressure fuel feed pump, and a second piston provided in a second cylinder and having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the first piston is connected to the first piston and is moved together with the first piston for pressurizing fuel in the second cylinder communicating with the outlet of the high pressure fuel pump at the time of engine starting, and before the high pressure fuel pump is started. The first and second pistons then are automatically returned to their initial positions, respectively, after high pressure fuel pump is started, while the pressure of the highly pressurized fuel in the high pressure fuel pipe is maintained by a high pressure regulator, by designing the first and second cylinders, including the relative sizes of the respective pistons, so that a possible maximum pressure to which the fuel is increased by the piston system is set to a value lower than a preset high pressure value to be attained by the high pressure fuel pump.

A variable-displacement compressor includes a wobble member for driving a pistons, and a rotation member for wobbling the wobbling member, a first support portion for supporting a wobbling member in such a manner that the angle of wobbling of the wobbling member is variable, and a second support portion for supporting said rotation member in such a manner that the angle of tilt of said rotation member relative to a main shaft is variable. With this construction, unbalanced inertia forces can be reduced greatly, thereby providing the variable-displacement compressor which produces less vibrations and noises.

Balanced variable-displacement compressor

A compressor of the rotary vane type including an annular space dormed inside a rotor for communicating vane slots formed in the rotor in communication with one another and for storing lubricant therein. As vanes each received in one of the vane slots move in radial sliding reciprocatory movement in the respective vane slots, the vanes are lubricated at their surfaces by the lubricant.

A slide vane type compressor comprises a cam ring formed with at least one working chamber and a rotor arranged in the at least one working chamber with an outer peripheral surface of the rotor being disposed close to an inner wall surface of the cam ring at least at one axial sealing portion thereof, with the rotor being formed vane grooves for respectively accommodating a plurality of vanes. At least one suction port introduces gas into the at least one working chamber, with the suction port having a suction terminal point angle extending from the axial sealing portion to a terminal point of the suction port, as viewed in the direction of rotation of the rotor. The suction terminal point angle of the suction port is greater than a geometrical suction terminal point angle geometrically determined in dependence upon the number of working chambers and the number of the plurality of vanes so that the suction terminal point angle of the suction port is advanced as compared with the geometrical suction terminal point angle.

An oil separator for separating oil from exhausted gas containing refrigerant gas and fine particles of oil incorporated in the refrigerant gas including grooved plates each formed with a multiplicity of grooves on opposite surfaces to allow the exhausted gas to flow in a direction substantially at right angles to the grooves, whereby the fine particles of oil can be trapped by the grooved plates. The oil separator can achieve increased oil separation efficiency.

A capacity control device for a compressor used with an air conditioning system for an automotive vehicle and driven by an engine of the automotive vehicle, including flow resistance portions provided in a refrigerant inlet passage and capable of reducing the flow rate of a refrigerant flowing into working chambers of the compressor as the rotational speed of the compressor (or the engine speed) rises, to thereby reduce the volumetric efficiency of the compressor in a high engine speed range.

Capacity control device for compressor

A movable vane type compressor having a rotor rotatable within a cam cylinder. The inner peripheral surface of the cam cylinder and the outer peripheral surface of the rotor approach each other most closely at a plurality of positions which in combination define a plurality of compression chambers between these peripheral surfaces. The rotor carries a plurality of movable vanes which are movable radially inwardly and outwardly with their one ends held in sliding contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cam cylinder as the rotor rotates so as to cause suction, compression and discharge actions in each compression chamber. A refrigerant passage for introducing the refrigerant gas into the compression chambers is formed between the side plate closing one axial end of the cam cylinder and a front cover covering the side plate. The suction passage extends in a hook-like form in the direction of rotation of the rotor.

A rotary compressor comprises a rotor, a cylinder having an inner surface slidably contacting the rotor at one or more portions thereof, side plates disposed on both sides of the cylinder for supporting a rotor driving shaft, and axial insert type discharge valves disposed inside the cylinder. The cylinder includes an inner cylinder having an inner surface slidably contacting the rotor, and an outer cylinder surrounding the whole of the outer periphery of the inner cylinder.

A vane-type rotary machine for use as a compressor, pump or the like. The rotary machine has a cam ring with an inner peripheral contour expressed by an epitrochoid-like curve having at least one lobe, a cylindrical rotor having a plurality of vane grooves and contacting the inner peripheral surface of the cam ring, and vanes slidably received by the vane grooves and adapted to slide on the inner peripheral surface of the cam ring as the rotor rotates. The inner peripheral contour of the cam ring is corrected or modified in accordance with the amount of offset of the vanes in such a manner as to suppress the lateral reactional force applied to the vanes thereby to reduce the friction loss during sliding of the vanes in respective vane grooves, while making the sliding movement of the vanes approach a movement in accordance with a sine wave curve, thereby to diminish noise, thermal loss and mechanical damage which are attributable to irregularity of movement of the vanes.

Vane-type rotary machine

A vane-type rotary machine suitable for use as a compressor, pump or the like, having a cylinder provided with an inner peripheral contour expressed by an epitrochoid-like curve having at least one lobe, a cylindrical rotor contacting the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder and having a plurality of vane grooves, and vanes slidably received by respective vane grooves. The inner peripheral contour of the cylinder constituted by the epitrochoid-like curve is divided at the circumferential mid point of each of the portions where the distance between the rotor and the cylinder is minimized, and the curve is contracted in the circumferential direction by a predetermined angle to form a discontinuity corresponding to the predetermined angle. Both end points of the discontinuity is connected by an arc of the same radius as the rotor.

Vane type rotary machine

In a swash plate type compressor, a partition plate member is located in a high pressure chamber of the compressor housing and divides the high pressure chamber into a plurality of small rooms which are communicated in series through a hole formed on the partition member. Each small room in the high pressure chamber and the partition member hole serves to reduce the resonant sound among the noise in a car or the like where the compressor is utilized.
