A gripping apparatus includes a tray, a detector, a robot, and a controller. The tray has a placement surface on which multiple workpieces of plate shape are to be placed. The placement surface is provided with multiple recesses. The detector is configured to detect arrangement of the workpieces placed on the tray. The robot is attached with a hand. The controller is configured to move and insert the workpieces into the recesses by vibrating the tray, specify the workpieces in a standing state with the detector, and instruct the robot to grip one of the workpieces in the standing state with the hand in a predetermined direction.

Gripping apparatus for plate-shaped workpiece and gripping method for plate-shaped workpiece

To provide a method of controlling a robot and a suction gripping device capable of preventing occurrence of wrinkling in a workpiece having a thin packaging material with a content contained therein. A method of controlling an industrial robot according to an embodiment, configured to suction and grip a workpiece having a thin packaging material with a content contained therein, includes: pressing a suction pad against the content with the packaging material interposed therebetween and, upon starting the suction, suction-gripping the workpiece by the suction pad. Starting suction may be performed in a state in which the suction pad is pressed to the content with the packing material therebetween or before the suction pad is pressed to the content.

A robot motion program generating apparatus generates a motion program for moving a robot, avoiding an obstacle. The apparatus comprises a section inputting a taught trajectory of the robot, a section setting a tolerance region around the trajectory inputted by the trajectory inputting section, a section setting a motion-point group that is a collection of the motion points, by determining motion points of the robot in the tolerance region set by the region setting section, and iterating a task of connecting a source motion point to a subsequent motion point through a line segment, avoiding the obstacle, starting from one end and ending at the other end of the trajectory, and a section generating the motion program, based on the motion-point group set by the point-group setting section.

A robot operation apparatus includes touch panel, touch operation detecting unit, action command generating unit, and selection operation detecting unit. The action command generating unit is capable of performing an operation determining process and an action command generating process. The operation determining process is a process for determining a drive axis or an action mode of a robot to be operated based on the selection operation detected by the selection operation detecting unit, and when a touch operation detected by the touch operation detecting unit is a drag operation, determining a movement amount of the drag operation. The action command generating process is a process for determining a movement amount of the robot based on the movement amount determined by in the operation determining process, and generating an action command for moving the robot at the drive axis or in the action mode to be operated by the movement amount.

A robot operation apparatus includes a touch panel, a display, an operation detecting unit capable of detecting a touch operation or a drag operation on the touch panel, a motion command generating unit that generates a motion command for operating a robot, and a display control unit that controls display content of the display. The motion command generating unit performs a motion speed determining process in which a motion speed of the robot is determined based on a slide distance that is a distance from a start position of a drag operation detected by the operation detecting unit to a current position. An operating area on the touch panel is set with the arrival position as the center of the determination area, ensuring a highly-reliable touch operation.
