The present invention relates to an insulated vessel which may be produced at low cost, has superior insulating capabilities and excellent volumetric efficiency, and which may be suitably employed in a thermos, cooler, icebox, insulated cup, thermal insulated lunch box, thermal insulated electric pot, heat retaining rice cooker, refrigerator or freezer box insulating material, or as an insulating layer in a bath tub. The insulated vessel of the present invention is characterized in the formation of an insulating layer in the space interval between the inner vessel and the outer vessel of a double walled vessel which is filled with a low thermoconductive gas consisting of at least one the gases of xenon, krypton, and argon, and in the disposition of a metallic heat radiation preventing material at the insulating layer.

The invention relates to a construction for attaching a radiant heat blocking metal foil to an insulating layer of an insulated container. Heretofore, a construction for attaching a radiant heat blocking metal foil involves positioning, an adhesive or adhesive tape on the rear face of the metal foil to thereby attach the foil at a predetermined position. However this has the problem that the foil can be attached at an unintended position, so that accurate positioning is not achieved, and the fixing takes time. The invention addresses such problems, with a construction enabling accurate fixing of the metal foil at a predetermined position, by forming at least one hole in a radiant heat blocking metal foil provided along the container wall face of a container formed with an insulating layer on the wall portion of the insulated container, and mounting the metal foil along a predetermined container wall face in a state wherein an adhesive or adhesive tape has not been applied, and after freely adjusting the arrangement position to a predetermined condition, affixing and securing the container wall face which can be seen via the hole to the metal foil at the peripheral portion of the hole, using adhesive tape.

A thermally insulated container of the present invention is a double-walled container in an integral body in which an inner casing is arranged in an outer casing so as to maintain a space therebetween, wherein the space is charged with a gas having a low thermal conductivity, and an opening having a diameter of 0.1 to 3 mm for charging gas in a wall of either of the inner casing and the outer casing is sealed. In a production process of the present invention, a double-walled container is obtained by arranging an inner casing in an outer casing so as to maintain a space therebetween, and by joining them into an integral body, a wall of either of the inner casing and the outer casing being provided with an opening for charging gas; then, the double-walled container is placed in a thermostatic chamber, a charging-evacuating tube which is switchably disposed to a vacuum evacuation apparatus and to a source of a gas having a low thermal conductivity is connected to the opening for charging gas, the space between the walls of the inner and outer casings is subjected to vacuum evacuation at a predetermined temperature, and thereafter a gas having a low thermal conductivity is introduced; and then, the opening for charging gas is sealed.

A thermally-insulated double-walled container is disclosed made of synthetic resin which is formed by joining together an inner container and an outer container in a unitary fashion to form a space therebetween; wherein a thermoinsulating layer is formed in the space between the inner container and the outer container by filling the space with at least one low thermoconductive gas selected from the group consisting of xenon, krypton, and argon; and wherein the inner container and the outer container are multilayer molded from different synthetic resin materials. The container provides an excellent gas-barrier capacity without requiring plating of the outer surface of the inner container or the inner surface of the outer container in the double walled container and maintains its mechanical strength over a long period of time and having an excellent thermoinsulating capacity. The container is suitable as a thermos, cooler box, ice cooler, thermoinsulated cup, insulated lunch box, or the like.
