A position sensing device includes at least one light receiver, and a processor. The light receiver receives lights that are emitted from a plurality of light exit positions of a scanning light source component to scan a predetermined area and are reflected by a sensing object within the predetermined area. The processor controls the scanning light source component, and senses position of the sensing object based on a light reception signal of the light receiver. The processor further determines from which of the scanning lights the light reception signal is obtained, and senses the position of the sensing object based on optical paths of the scanning lights.

Position sensing device and position sensing method

The image display device resolves inconsistency in the brightness of the image while effectively reducing local speckle noise that remains due to the laser scanning of which the scanning speed fluctuates. A waveform pattern (PT) that includes an on period and an off period within the pixel displaying period (T) is selected for the center pixel (P). A waveform pattern (PT) that includes an on period and an off period within the pixel displaying period (T) that is longer than the pixel displaying period (T) is selected for the side pixel (P) or (P) that is scanned at a scanning speed slower than that for the center pixel (P). Here, the on period in the waveform pattern (PT) is segmented more than the on period in the waveform pattern (PT), and the time ratio of the on period accounting for the waveform pattern (PT) is smaller than the time ratio of the on period accounting for the waveform pattern (PT).

Image display device

An image display device includes an image display component, a projection component that forms an optical image corresponding to an image displayed by the image display component, a distance measurement component having a detector that detects an indicator for performing an touch operation relative to the optical image to acquire distance information from the detector to the indicator, and a controller that determines whether or not the indicator has performed the touch operation relative to the optical image based on the distance information and relative movement information between the distance measurement component and at least one of the image display component and the projection component.

This display includes a control portion controlling a laser beam generation portion to output a first laser beam including a region of relaxation oscillation to a partial first image forming element included in a plurality of image forming elements and to output a second laser beam including no region of relaxation oscillation to a second image forming element, other than the first image forming element, included in the plurality of image forming elements.

Display and portable projector

To prevent effectively the flickering of an image due to the switching of a polarization direction while reducing speckle noise. A polarization switching unit is provided in an optical path of laser light to a projection surface A and periodically switches a polarization direction of the laser light emitted therefrom between p and S polarization. A laser control unit controls laser light sources in synchronization with the switching by the polarization switching unit and determines a driving current corresponding to a grayscale to be displayed on the basis of driving current characteristics for P polarization when the polarization direction of the laser light is the P polarization. In addition, the laser control unit determines the driving current corresponding to the grayscale to be displayed on the basis of the driving current characteristics for P polarization when the polarization direction of the laser light is the S polarization.

This projector includes a laser beam generation portion, an image projection portion including a scanning portion and projecting an image on a projection area, a beam receiving portion receiving the laser beam reflected by a detection object and a control portion detecting an operation performed on the projected image with the detection object on the basis of the moving state of the detection object.

Projector and rear projector

A projector includes a laser beam scanning portion, a light detecting portion, and a control portion performing control of predicting a prediction region where a detection object exists on the basis of detection of the detection object, changing a modulation pattern of a laser beam when the laser beam is scanned on the prediction region, acquiring the position of the detection object on the basis of reflected light of the laser beam emitted in a detection object detection pattern, and setting the position of the detection object to an indication position.

Projector and electronic device having projector function

A manipulation input device includes a projection component, a photodetector and an inclination determination component. The projection component projects an image on a projection surface by scanning light from a light source. The photodetector detects as scattered light the light reflected by a manipulation object. The inclination determination component acquires, for a plurality of scan lines of the light, position information of the manipulation object that is specified based on scanning angle information when the photodetector has detected the scattered light, and width information of the manipulation object that corresponds to a continuous detection duration during which the photodetector continuously detects the scattered light. The inclination determination component determines inclination of the manipulation object based on at least one of a temporal change in a plurality of sets of the width information and a temporal change in a plurality of sets of the position information.

Manipulation input device, manipulation input system, and manipulation input method

A projector includes a light source, a projection component, a photodetector, and an inclination calculator. The light source outputs light. The projection component projects an image on a projection surface by scanning the light outputted by the light source at an angle to the projection surface. The photodetector detects, as a reflected light, the light that has been scanned by the projection component and reflected by a detection object within a light detection range of the photodetector. The light detection range is set to a predetermined range in a direction perpendicular to the projection surface. The inclination calculator calculates an inclination angle of the detection object in a sub-scanning direction of the light based on a position of the detection object on the projection surface and a number of times the reflected light is detected while scanning in the sub-scanning direction.

This image display apparatus includes a light source emitting a laser beam, a scan mirror projecting an image by vertically and horizontally scanning the laser beam by swinging, and a scan control portion rendering the horizontal scanning amplitude of the scan mirror on the side of a projection image having a reduced length relatively large as compared with the horizontal scanning amplitude of the scan mirror on the side of the projection image having an increased length with respect to distortion in which the length of the upper side of the projection image and the length of the lower side of the projection image are different from each other.

An image displaying device includes laser beam sources that emit laser beams of mutually differing color components. The image display device projects an image based on a test pattern that includes a reference mark indicating horizontal and vertical reference positions by a mixed color of color components of the mutually differing color components, and bar marks arranged at specific intervals in the horizontal and vertical directions relative to the reference mark, for each color component, is used. Arrangement of the bar marks in the image data is an arrangement in which a distance from the reference mark is used as a reference, and for pairs of bar marks for bar marks of mutually differing color components, an amount of offset between bar marks in each of the bar mark pairs increases with fixed increments proportional to the distance from the reference mark.

Display and portable projector including a laser beam generation portion

Techniques capable of effectively reducing local speckle noise caused by scanning with laser light involving a variation in scanning speed and improving the overall quality of an image are provided. In some examples, a laser light source emits laser light with an output level corresponding to a display grayscale of a pixel according to a predetermined waveform pattern within a pixel display period which is set to increase as a scanning speed is reduced. The waveform pattern is set such that a unique relaxation oscillation of the laser light source increases as the scanning speed is reduced. A scanning mirror reflects the laser light emitted from the laser light source in a predetermined scanning order according to its deflection angle so as to be projected onto a projection surface.
