A jet-propulsion personal watercraft includes an engine configured to generate a driving power for generating a propulsion force to propel the watercraft, an engine speed changing system configured to be able to change an engine speed of the engine, a determiner configured to determine whether or not to execute control for effectively steering the watercraft at start of deceleration, and an engine controller configured to control the engine speed changing system based on information received from the determiner. The engine controller is configured to, when the determiner determines that the control for effectively steering the watercraft should not be executed, control the engine speed changing system so that a decrease rate of the engine speed immediately after the determination is smaller than a decrease rate of the engine speed in a case where the determiner determines that the control for effectively steering the watercraft should not be executed.

An engine equipped with an air-intake device for a personal watercraft, includes a cylinder head cover attached to an upper surface of a cylinder head, a plug cap with ignition coil configured to protrude upward from an upper surface of the cylinder head cover; and an air box for the air-intake device that is disposed above the cylinder head cover and is provided on a lower surface thereof with an air inlet that opens to be opposite to the upper surface of the cylinder head cover. The air box is disposed in such a manner that the lower surface of the air box is opposite to the upper surface of the cylinder head cover and a gap is formed between the lower surface of the air box and the upper surface of the cylinder head cover so as to form an air flow in the vicinity of the plug cap with ignition coil that is directed to the air inlet of the air box.

A personal watercraft with a supercharging device and an intercooler is disclosed. The personal watercraft may include an engine, a water jet pump, a propeller shaft to transmit an output power of the engine to the water jet pump, and a bearing case configured to support a front portion of the propeller shaft. The personal watercraft may further include a supercharging device configured to pressurize air taken in from outside and supplied to the engine, an intercooler configured to cool the air pressurized and compressed by the supercharging device, and a pump room which is formed on a bottom surface of a rear end portion of the body and is configured to accommodate the water jet pump therein. The intercooler may be positioned forward of the pump room and behind the engine and may be mounted to an upper surface of the bearing case.

A water-jet propulsion personal watercraft is disclosed, including a multiple-cylinder engine mounted in a body of the watercraft and configured to drive a water jet pump configured to propel the watercraft, and a mechanically driven supercharger configured to supply air taken in from outside to the engine. The engine typically has air-intake ports configured to open toward one side relative to the engine and exhaust ports configured to open toward an opposite side relative to the engine. The supercharger is typically disposed on the one side relative to the engine.
