The invention relates to a process for preparing a polymerization catalyst component wherein a solid compound with formula Mg(OR)Clwherein x is larger than 0 and smaller than 2, and each R, independently, represents an alkyl group, said compound being obtained by reacting a Grignard compound with an alkoxy- or aryloxy-containing silane compound, is contacted with at least one activating compound selected from the group formed by internal electron donors and compounds of formula M(OR)(R), wherein M can be Ti, Zr, Hf, Al or Si, each Rand R, independently, represent an alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group, v is the valency of M and w is smaller than v, in the presence of an inert dispersant to give an intermediate reaction product, and wherein the intermediate reaction product is contacted with a halogen-containing Ti-compound. A catalyst system comprising said component shows improved performance in olefin polymerization. The invention also relates to a polymerization catalyst system comprising the catalyst component and to a process of making a polyolefin by contacting at least one olefin with a polymerization catalyst system comprising the catalyst component.

Process for preparing a catalyst component for propylene polymerization

The present invention relates to a catalyst composition for the polymerisation of olefins comprising a support containing a single site catalyst component, a catalyst activator and a modifier wherein the modifier is the product of reacting an aluminum compound of general formula AI(R1, R2, R3) with an amine compound of general formula N(R4, R5, R6). The catalyst composition reduces fouling and/or sheeting when used to catalyse the polymerisation of olefins. The present invention also relates to a method for the polymerisation of olefins using the catalyst composition of the invention.

Catalyst composition and method for preparing the same

A process comprising reacting a 2-indenylboranic acid (ester) with a bromosubstituted compound in the presence of the Pd catalyst bis(triphenylphosphin)palladium dichloride and a base to form the corresponding bridged bis(indenyl) ligand. Where the 2-indenylboranic acid (ester) is the pinacolester of 2-indenylboranic acid, the process may further comprise reacting a 2-bromo indene compound with pinacolborane in the presence of a Pd catalyst and a base to form the corresponding 2-indenylpinacolylborane compound. Bridged bis(indenyl)ligands may suitably be used in the preparation of metallocene complexes, such as 2,2'-bis(2-indenyl)biphenyl ZrCland 1,2-bis (2-indenyl)benzene ZrCl. These metallocene complexes may be used for the polymerization, optionally in the presence of a cocatalyst, of one or more &#x3b1;-olefins, preferably for the polymerization of ethylene.

Process for the preparation of metallocene complexes

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a solid catalyst component suitable for producing polyethylene and its copolymers, said process comprising the steps of: (a) contacting a dehydrated support having hydroxyl groups with a magnesium compound having the general formula MgRR; (b) contacting the product obtained in step (a) with modifying compounds (A), (B) and (C), wherein: (A) is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of carboxylic acid, carboxylic acid ester, ketone, acyl halide, aldehyde and alcohol; (B) is a compound having the general formula R(RO)SiX, (C) is a compound having the general formula (RO)M, and (c) contacting the product obtained in step (b) with a titanium halide compound having the general formula TiX, wherein Ti is a titanium atom and X is a halide atom. Process for making a solid catalyst component for ethylene polymerization and copolymerization

A process to prepared bridged bis(indenyl)ligands, comprising the step of reacting a 2-indenylpinacolyl borane compound with a bromosubstituted compound in the presence of a Pd catalyst and a base to form the corresponding bridged bis(indenyl) ligand. The process may further comprise the step of reacting a 2-bromo indene compound with pinacolborane in the presence of a Pd catalyst and a base to form the corresponding 2-indenylpinacolylborane compound. These bridged bis(indenyl)ligands may suitably be used in the preparation of metallocene complexes, such as 2,2'-bis(2-indenyl)biphenyl ZrCland 1,2-bis(2-indenyl)benzene ZrCl. These metallocene complexes may be used for the polymerization, optionally in the presence of a cocatalyst, of one or more &#x3b1;-olefins, preferably for the polymerization of ethylene.
