An adjustable insulating device is provided. An example device includes a housing and an extendable member at least partially located within the housing. The extendable member moves between a retracted position and an extended position. The device further includes an adjustment mechanism operably coupled with the extendable member. The adjustment mechanism causes translation of the extendable member between the retracted position and the extended position. The adjustment mechanism includes a first roller rotationally engaged with the extendable member at a first position that houses a first motor, and a second roller rotationally engaged with the extendable member at a second position that houses a second motor. An output of the first motor and an output of the second motor are configured to cause translation of the extendable member between the retracted position and the extended position, via the first roller and the second roller.

Embodiments relate generally to methods and systems for monitoring personal protection equipment (PPE) compliance. A method may comprise receiving, by a user identification (ID) module, information from sensor modules attached to PPE devices worn by the user, determining if the sensor modules indicate that the PPE devices are active or inactive, communicating the information from the user ID to a supervisor console, and displaying this information by a supervisor console. The user ID may be associated with a specific user, and the sensor modules may be associated with specific PPE devices. When it is determined that a required PPE device is inactive, corrective action may be taken by the supervisor.

A shotgun stick for use with grounding devices is provided. An example shotgun stick includes a housing and a drive shaft supported within the housing. The shotgun stick further includes a torque connector coupled with a first end of the drive shaft that receives a grounding clamp assembly. The shotgun stick includes a motor assembly operably connected to a second end of the drive shaft. In an automatic mode, the motor assembly drives the drive shaft so as to actuate the grounding clamp assembly received by the torque connector. The shotgun stick also includes a manual locking mechanism. In a manual mode, the manual locking assembly locks the drive shaft to at least a portion of the housing so as to preclude rotation of the drive shaft and allow manual actuation of the grounding clamp assembly received by the torque connector.

Automated shotgun stick for clamping grounding devices on overhead lines

Each sensor comprises a transducer sensing electric field in transmitting a wireless signal representing field strength for an associated direction. An alert device is in operative communication with the plurality of sensors and comprises a control configured to monitor field strength for each sensor and determine existence of an alarm condition responsive to field strength being above a pre-select level and to generate an alarm signal indicating the associated direction of the alarm condition.

A high voltage phasing voltmeter comprises first and second probes. Each probe comprises an electrode for contacting a high voltage electrical conductor. The electrodes are connected in series with a resistor. A meter comprises a housing enclosing an electrical circuit for measuring true rms voltage. The electrical circuit comprises an input circuit for connection to the first and second probes and developing a scaled voltage representing measured voltage across the electrodes. A converter circuit converts the scaled voltage to a DC signal representing true rms value of the measured voltage. A peak hold circuit is connected to the converter circuit to hold a peak value of the true rms value. A display is connected to the peak hold circuit for displaying the peak value of the true rms value.
