Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, identifying unselected video content items and preconfiguring playback views for unselected video content items. During a warm-up phase, access to the unselected video content items is precoordinated individually with a separate video player, manifests and license/key are retrieved in anticipation for possible selection for playback. Subsequent selection of one of the unselected video content items initiates playback responsive to selection without repeating any of the preconfiguring, preauthorizing or fetching. A method and system for displaying an advertisement at a user device comprising receiving a content stream at the user device comprising an advertisement queuing point, monitoring the content stream for the advertisement queuing point at a client stream assembler module of the user device, communicating an advertisement query signal comprising client metadata from the client stream assembler module to a decision proxy, receiving an advertisement decision signal comprising an advertisement location identifier at the client stream assembler module, requesting an advertisement based on the advertisement location identifier and receiving and displaying the advertisement corresponding to the advertisement location identifier on a display associated with the user device.

Method and system for assembling content streams with advertisements from multiple advertisement vendors

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method that includes determining, by a processing system, whether a transmission from a client device includes a request to participate in a sponsored data session. If a sponsored data session is requested, the request is sent to equipment of a sponsoring entity. The processing system receives a list of data items available from the equipment of the sponsoring entity in the sponsored data session; initiates the sponsored data session; and generates a session identifier for transmission to the client device. The processing system also determines whether a subsequent request received from the client device corresponds to a listed data item, and causes a sponsored data rate to be applied to a client account for transfer of the data item.
