A modular microfluidic system includes modules which are arranged next to each other in a row. Every module has a microfluidic part which rests on a contact surface of the module in a locally limited area and is forced against the contact surface by a fastening element. The microfluidic part includes a fluid channel system with fluid connections that are arranged on the top surface of the microfluidic part in edge areas relative to the adjoining microfluidic parts. The fluid connections of adjoining microfluidic parts are interlinked by respective connecting channels in a connecting part bridging the microfluidic parts, wherein the connecting part rests on the microfluidic parts in the edge areas. A clamping part rests against the lower surfaces of the adjoining microfluidic parts and is connected to the connecting part via an additional fastening element in the area between the microfluidic parts.

Modular microfluidic system

A microfluidics system for mixing at least two starting materials having a prescribed number of parallel and identical mixing or reaction branches, in which a number of supply ducts corresponding to the number of starting materials open into a mixing or reaction channel. Each of the supply ducts includes an intake line for each starting material, an injection pump for each supply duct and a valve circuit between each intake line for a starting material, where the supply ducts for a respective starting material and a respective injection pump are provided to each respective supply duct. The valve circuit is configured to connect the injection pumps to the suction line in a first valve position, shut off the injection pumps in a second valve position, and to connect the injection pumps to the associated inlet channels in a third valve position. Each of the injection pumps, which are connected to each valve circuit, have a common drive. All mixing or reaction branches connected in parallel can thus be supplied with the same volumetric flow of starting material.

Microfluidics system for mixing at least two starting materials

There is described a microfluid system with a microchannel structure for the passage of fluids and a further channel structure separated from the microstructure by means of at least one separating wall for the passage of a heat transfer fluid. The risk of internal leakage in the microfluid system can be recognized in time, by separation of the microchannel structure from a cavity of at least one point by a further separating wall, said separating wall being at least locally weaker than the separating wall between the microchannel structure and the further channel structure and said cavity is connected to a detector device for detection of ingressing fluid.

Microfluidic system

The microfluidic system is constituted of modules that comprise one microfluidic unit and one corresponding electric control unit each and that are retained on a rear panel unit next to each other in a row. To prevent the formation of accumulation of ignitable or toxic gas mixtures a fluid conduit for a rinsing fluid extends through the rear panel unit. Branches lead from said fluid conduit to the modules, and said branches flowing into respective distributor compartments that extend vertically across the module height in the modules. Said distributor compartments are delimited in relation to the interior of the respective module by a distributor panel that is provide with openings. The interior of the respective module comprises, on its lower or rear surface, an exit opening for the rinsing fluid.

Parallel flow chemical processing systems, such as parallel flow chemical reaction systems are disclosed. These systems are adapted to simultaneously and independently vary temperature between separate flow channels, preferably by employing separate, individual heating elements in thermal communication with each of four or more parallel flow reactors. The flow reactors are preferably isolated from each other using a thermal isolation system comprising fluid-based heat exchange. In preferred embodiments, the axial heat flux can be fixedly or controllably varied.

Parallel flow reactor having improved thermal control

A system for processing fluids, the system having a unit () for supplying and discharging the fluids. The unit has a plurality of fluid lines terminating in a plurality of fluid ports, an assembly side () with the plurality of fluid ports terminating therein. The system also has at least one device () in which at least one of the fluids is processed. The at least one device is operable to be mounted on the assembly side and further operable to be coupled to the plurality of fluid ports (). The at least one device has a plurality of components () performing a plurality of functions related to the processing of the at least one of the fluids. The components are mounted on the assembly side in superimposed planes. The fluid ports supply and discharging the fluids to and from the components. The fluid ports have different lengths and extend from the assembly side () to at least one of the components ().
