There is provided a method of detection and monitoring of at least one position based activity by a subject, comprising: providing a wearable monitoring device including at least one position tag for tracking location of the subject in a space; collecting body movement and location data of the subject within the space based on the tracked location of the position tag; providing at least one activity sensor configured to sense at least one body movement of the subject within the space; collecting body movement data based on the activity sensor; correlating the body movement data with the location data; contextually analyzing the correlation to identify at least one abnormal event or at least one normal event based on subject body movement and location where the body movement is performed; and generating an alert indicative of the abnormal event or the normal event.

Systems and methods for analysis of subject activity

A wireless universal serial bus (USB) system that includes a wireless USB host, a first wireless USB device, and a second wireless USB device. The wireless USB host is configured to wirelessly transmit a beacon over a wireless USB network based on a wireless USB protocol. A single-antenna solution is provided for near-field and far-field communication in wireless devices. In an embodiment, a first transceiver block generates a first transmit signal to be transmitted using radiative techniques. A second transceiver block generates a second transmit signal to be transmitted using inductive coupling. The first and second transceiver blocks are coupled to a same antenna for transmitting the first transmit signal using radiative coupling, and the second transmit signal using inductive coupling. The first transceiver block and the second transceiver block operate according to time division multiplexing, and in an embodiment corresponding to an FM transceiver and an NFC transceiver.

A system and method for reducing power consumption of a wireless device operating as a soft access point. In one embodiment, a wireless device includes a soft access point controller that configures the wireless device to operate as a group owner in a peer-to-peer wireless local area network. The soft access point controller includes a beacon controller. The beacon controller is configured to transmit beacon frames at a first periodic interval. The beacon controller is also configured to extend a discovery interval of a wireless station by transmitting acknowledgement packets at a second periodic interval. The second periodic interval is shorter than the first periodic interval and shorter than a minimum discovery scan timeout of the wireless station.

System and method for soft access point power reduction

A wireless device includes a first wireless transceiver and a second wireless transceiver. The first wireless transceiver is configured to communicate via a first wireless network, and includes a first scheduler configured to schedule communication via the first wireless network. The second wireless transceiver is configured to communicate via a second wireless network. The second wireless transceiver includes a second scheduler. A wireless device comprises a first wireless transceiver configured for communication via a first wireless network, a second wireless transceiver configured for communication via a second wireless network; and a scheduler that controls which of the first and second transceivers is granted access to a wireless medium at a given time. When the first wireless transceiver has been granted access to the wireless medium by the scheduler and the first wireless transceiver receives a packet via the first wireless network, the scheduler temporarily grants the second wireless transceiver access to the wireless medium based on the packet indicating that first wireless transceiver is not to use the wireless medium for a period of time.

Channel utilization improvement in coexisting wireless networks

An apparatus, a method of transmitting data having audio and video content over a broadcast network employing time-slicing, a DVB-H system and an audio and video data processor. In one embodiment the method includes: (1) identifying points of a data stream corresponding to a beginning of each time-slice of a transmission stream, having multiple time-slices, to be used to transmit the data stream via a broadcast network, the data stream including an audio and a video stream, (2) injecting a synchronization packet at the points for each of the audio and video streams and (3) transmitting the transmission stream having the synchronization packets via the broadcast network.
