An optical setup, comprising one or more platforms having a plurality of fixation locations repeatedly arranged, and defining a discrete position coordinate system; and a plurality of modular optical units, each comprising an optical portion defining an optical axis fixedly attached to at least one mounting surface comprising complementary geometry to the fixation locations; wherein a releasable attachment of the plurality of modular optical units at the fixation locations defines a plurality of optical axes at least a portion of the optical axes overlapping across the discrete position coordinate system In some embodiments, the modular optical units include standard optical elements In some embodiments, the platform includes an attachment interface to an optical table and/or another platform In some embodiments, laser pulses are synchronized by fixing a discrete path length over the fixation locations In some embodiments the fixation locations are located on multiple planes in 3D space.

3D modular optics for 3D optical alignments

An interferometer system comprises a light redirecting system for splitting an input light beam into two secondary light beams to respectively propagate along a first optical arm and a second optical arm, and for recombining the secondary light beams after exiting the optical arms. The interferometer system also comprises a multipass optical cell positioned at the second optical arm for effecting a predetermined optical path length within the second arm.

Interferometer system and application thereof

A system for frequency conversion, comprises a laser source and a harmonic generation crystal. The laser source is configured to produce optical pulse energy of less than 100 &#x3bc;J. The harmonic generation crystal comprises a structure characterized by a nonlinear susceptibility, and a crystal grating period which adiabatically varies along the longitudinal direction in a manner that the crystal grating period is inversely proportional to a crystal grating function of a coordinate z measured along the longitudinal direction.

Method and system for frequency conversion

An imaging system comprises a light source generating a pump beam, and an optical coupling system for receiving an input beam of infrared light from a scene and combining the input beam with the pump beam, wherein an intensity of the pump beam is higher than an intensity of the input beam. The imaging system further comprises a crystal configured for adiabatically mixing the beams and providing an output beam having a frequency which is a sum of frequencies of the input and pump beams, and a visible, near-infrared or ultraviolet light imager configured for collecting and to spectrally resolving the output beam.
