A garment steaming device includes a steam generator () having a heater () and an ironing surface () against which a fabric of a garment is locatable. An intermediate section () is disposed between the steam generator and the ironing surface to transfer heat from the steam generator to the ironing surface so that the ironing surface is indirectly heated by the steam generator via the intermediate section. The operating temperature of the ironing surface is not user selectable during use. Furthermore, the intermediate section is configured to have a thermal transmittance so that, during use, heat transfer from the steam generator to the ironing surface is controlled and the temperature of the ironing surface is maintained between 90&#xb0; C. and 155&#xb0; C. when the ironing surface is located against a fabric in each of a stationary condition and a moving condition.

Garment steaming device

The invention provides a garment treatment stand () for garment treatment, the garment treatment stand () comprising:&#x2014;a open frame ();&#x2014;a flexible support surface (), in use stretched up tautly on said frame () for providing a surface for pressing against during garment treatment. The current invention adds a flexible steaming/ironing surface to a garment treatment stand, to allow for it to be used as a support during steaming/ironing of the garment. Especially, the garment treatment stand may be used for steaming or pressing garments.

Garment treatment stand

A boiler having a shell enclosing a space and an inlet for letting water into the shell space. The shell space has two separate sections, wherein a first section is located such as to receive a supply of fresh water to the boiler and wherein a second section is located such as to receive water from the first section when overflow of the first section takes place under the influence of a continuous supply of fresh water. A steam generating process takes place in the second section. Due to the fact that the second section is only indirectly filled with water, it is possible to have an undisturbed process. In particular, the water may be heated in the first section before reaching the second section. The first section may for example include an inner space of a container which is arranged inside the shell, for example.

A steam discharge unit () comprises a chamber () for accommodating a flow of a water-steam mixture and heating the water-steam mixture, an inlet () to the chamber (), and an outlet () from the chamber (). In order to avoid water droplets from exiting the chamber () through the outlet () along with a flow of steam, special measures are taken, which comprise a barrier () arranged inside the chamber (), in a flow path of a water-steam mixture from the inlet () to the outlet (), and a hydrophobic surface () arranged preferably close to the outlet (). In case water droplets remain inside the chamber () and tend to move towards the outlet (), an actual release of the water droplets from the chamber () cannot take place by virtue of the presence of the barrier () and the hydrophobic surface () as mentioned.

A steaming system () comprises a steam generator (), a removable water tank () for holding and supplying water to the steam generator (); and a dosing device () for supplying an amount of a water treatment agent to the water tank (). The dosing device is configured to be triggered by a movement of the water tank () relative to the steam generator ().
