The described examples provide a system and methods for identifying a location of a mobile device within an indoor venue using cellular communication signals obtained while the mobile device is within the indoor venue. An array of antennas arranged within the indoor venue detects cellular communication signals transmitted by the mobile device. The detected cellular communication signals have detectable and measurable signal parameters that allow the location of the mobile device within the indoor venue and an identifier of the mobile device to be determined. The determined identifier of the mobile device may also be used to identify the mobile device subscriber. The mobile device indoor location information may be used to update an anonymized subscriber profile associated with the mobile device subscriber.

Mobile device locating using long term evolution signals

Systems and methods for managing information about content transmission are disclosed. In some implementations, a first mobile device communicates with a second mobile device, via a short-range radio of the first mobile device, to either send or receive a content item. The first mobile device tags the content item with a tag. The tag identifies the second mobile device. The first mobile device transmits to a server, via an additional radio of the first mobile device, data identifying the content and the second mobile device. The additional radio is different from the short-range radio. The data is transmitted to the server for analyzing short-range radio transmissions between mobile devices.

Managing information about content transmission

A customer-accessible station includes a near field communication (NFC) transceiver configured to interact with another NFC transceiver of a customer's mobile station and/or a micro-cell base station subsystem for use at a premises of an enterprise includes a base transceiver system configured for wireless communication with a mobile station over a frequency band allocated for mobile traffic in a macro cellular network. A communication interface sends and receives communications for one or more mobile stations when at the premises via a packet data network. A controller coupled to the base transceiver system operates the micro-cell base station subsystem to appear as a base station similar to a base station of the macro cellular network, including enabling mobile station registration. A customer management server responds to identification of a registered mobile station by communicating information about a customer associated with the identified mobile station to a system used by enterprise personnel.

A micro-cell base station subsystem at a premises of an enterprise includes a base transceiver system configured for wireless communication with a mobile station over a frequency band allocated for mobile traffic in a macro cellular network. A communication interface is configured to send and receive communications for one or more mobile stations when at the premises via a packet data network. A controller coupled to the base transceiver system is configured to operate the micro-cell base station subsystem to appear as a base station similar to a base station of the macro cellular network, including enabling mobile station registration. A softswitch coupled to the packet data network enables mobile station registration with the macro cellular network through the micro-cell base station subsystem. A customer management server responds to identification of a registered mobile station by communicating information about a customer associated with the identified mobile station to a system used by enterprise personnel.

Providing mobile network derived check-in for customer relationship

A mobile station is configured to detect entry into a premises of an enterprise in response to short range or near field radio-frequency signals. The mobile station receives signals from one or more short range wireless beacons located in the premises, and the mobile station sends identifiers from the beacon signals to a location server. The location server processes the identifiers to determine location of the mobile station within the premises and sends information to the mobile station, for presentation to the user of a map of the premises showing the determined location of the mobile station within the premises. Entry detection also may be used to automatically check-in a customer/user of the mobile station with a system of the enterprise used by personnel of the enterprise at the premises to enable the personnel to customize interactions the customer while the customer is at the premises.
