A vehicle lamp assembly is provided with at least one light source having an optical axis. A lens body a first body segment having a light-collection surface positioned adjacent the light source and from the light-collecting face to a first total-internal-reflection (TIR) surface. A middle body segment extends from the first TIR surface to a second TIR surface. A second body segment extends from the second TIR surface to a light emission surface defining an output optical axis. Light propagates in each of the first, middle and second segments in a generally collimated light path.

Lens and vehicle lamp assembly

A light assembly includes a light source and a lens with a light-incident face defined by a central primary collector surface and secondary input surfaces extending transversely from the central primary collector surface, a light-emitting face opposite the light-incident face and defined by a central collimator profile and a pair of lateral side projections extending transversely from the central collimator profile, and a pair of secondary collecting surfaces extending between the light-incident face and the light-emitting face. Light from the light source received by the lens and exits as a generally collimated output.

A vehicle lamp is provided with a projection lens having a lens profile with a rear major surface with a convex curvature and a front surface with a concave curvature. A rear height of the rear major surface is greater than a front height of the front surface. The lamp has a plurality of light sourcesand a reflector configured to reflect the light emitted from the plurality light of sources towards the projection lens. As the lens profile is swept along a curve length, at least one of the rear convex curvature or the front concave curvature varies. The light output from the front surface of the projection lens is generally uniform along the curve length.
